ROOM was so HOT

The hotel room is spacious and very clean.. also good location, close to bus and train stations

We enjoyed our stay at the Riu Westminster. The location was ideal for us - walking distance to Westminster Abbey and plenty of other sites. Cab rides were generally well-priced (we used Freenow, London's Lyft), and there were many train and bus options available. The only thing to be sure you're aware of is the general tightness of the rooms - they are small. We were in a standard Queen. If you are staying one night, or really don't need a lot of space, this is doable and comes at a great price. We stayed 7 nights and absolutely wished we had more space - to store items (there is one close with only two very small draws and one shelf inside), to sit (there are two chairs - a desk chair and a bigger lounger, but no couch or bench), or to do morning yoga. There was simply not enough room. The configuration is a little awkward, as you enter into the sink/bathroom area which can be divided by a pocket door, but does not have ventilation on that side. So, when the pocket door is closed, you're not feeling the AC or breathing easily on that side of the room. We also could not master how to get light on one side and not the other. All of this said, we would stay again. We just wanted to be helpful to future travelers. It's a lovely, well-run hotel. Breakfast was great, and the restaurant was open until midnight. Thank, Riu!

This was a lovely boutique hotel and perfect for what I needed for a one-night stay in London. I booked it mainly for convenience, as it was close to the train station and made continuing my journey very easy. The room was stylish, modern, and comfortable, with a feel similar to a Moxy hotel or a CB2/West Elm-style boutique property. The bathroom was small, but modern, functional, and had great water pressure. The bed was extremely comfortable, the air conditioning worked very well, and the room felt thoughtfully designed. The staff were wonderful and very helpful. I arrived during a World Cup game, so the hotel and bar area were very lively, but the staff still greeted me warmly, brought me a bottle of water, and personally showed me to my room. That immediately made me feel taken care of, and honestly, I would have happily stayed longer. The only thing to note is the location. The hotel sits on the edge of an area that may feel a little rough depending on which direction you walk. If you leave the hotel and go right, you’ll find a cute part of London with bars, restaurants, and a Tesco nearby. If you go left, the neighborhood feels less inviting, so solo travelers may want to be mindful of that. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel. It was stylish, comfortable, convenient, well-run, and had genuinely kind staff. For a short London stay near the station, it was a great choice.

Excellent value, whilst not a cheap option, it is definitively very good value. The staff were professional and accommodating. They allowed early check in because they had availability. They were friendly. The location is great. The units are great in size for a family, and basic provisions (coffee, detergent, dish soap, milk capsules, etc) are provided. The units are modern and in good taste, some items are a little tired from guest traffic, but, hey some times guests do give the equipment a rough ride! Very clean. The lady at reception is charming, and the cleaning staff are professional. Will be back and recomend.

While a last minute booking due to a cancelled flight, we were blown away with the reception received and the quality of the hotel and rooms. Excellent.

‘Soundproofed rooms’ is misleading. Very noisy hotel. Pictures are very misleading Bed extremely uncomfortable Maintenance poor. Gaps around doors and external windows that do not close properly mean this hotel is constantly noisy. I stay in west London regularly for business working nights. I booked this hotel as my usual was fully booked due to a late notice job. I booked due to the listing saying its sound proofed and various reviews saying its quiet. The first room 107 has a window that doesn’t close properly and a mot garage directly outside the window so good luck staying asleep past 7am. I was then moved to another room 01 behind reception as I was assured this would be silent (not the basement as they said) and spent the next 4 days getting almost zero sleep as the door by reception is slammed shut non stop all day (past 3pm). I appreciate cleaners will make noise during cleaning times but to spend all morning shouting to each other and slamming doors when signs on bedrooms clearly show ‘do not disturb’ staff were made aware of night works but that made no difference. Also the manager or owner screaming at staff during the day was completely unprofessional. dirt constantly falls out the bathroom vent that has never been cleaned. This is a budget hotel charging way over the odds, I spent over £1000 staying and should have slept in my van I’d have got better sleep!
