A very comfortable stay and would recommend The Darling. Nice friendly staff, very well appointed room that was quiet and relaxing, good bathroom and water pressure, and overall a well maintained and newer hotel. Easy access to the ferry for quick trip to Circular Quay, and easy walking to the Fish Markets and across to the cbd via the bridge. I'd recommend is to avoid the eateries in The Star as overpriced, just walk up the road to Harris St (The Gallon was very nice). A very nice stay.
Downside was that the internet is not a secured network for the hotel, but instead you use the general The Start network that anyone in both hotels, the casino, theatres, and general public areas use. Not what I would expect for a hotel of this calibre and price-point, and was surprised to discover this.

Class all the way and Phillip at reception was brilliant. The advice he gave regarding local restaurants was well received and accurate. The only disappointment was we had only one night there!
