This is far from a 4 stars hotel. It looked better on the pictures than it is. The is no sauna/hammam/spa service available except for an offer 2 half-days a weeks… The breakfast was unavailable to us. It is irritating to pay the “ hotel price” we paid but to be ask to deal with removing the bed sheets and get the trash out. The pool is nice and it is walking distance from the beach and the downtown area with dining options.

Unfortunately, this is not anywhere close to a 5-star property, which is what it’s marketed and priced as. The property is in terrible condition, peeling paint everywhere, completely rusted exterior, moldy and worn out carpet, outdated furniture and bathrooms, mold on interior walls and near the vents. Overpriced food and amenities. The pool is nice, and the staff is very kind and helpful to try and accommodate guests (moving rooms, offering what they can), but they are completely hampered by the hotel’s poor mismanagement and the fact that Sofitel has let this property fall into disrepair. We considered leaving in the middle of the night during our short stay we were so uncomfortable with the amount of mold everywhere, and ultimately really had an unpleasant stay. I hope the hotel owners choose it either invest in modernizing and fixing this hotel, or be realistic to people booking about the experience they are going to get and the condition of the property.
