A lovely hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. I had a lovely relaxing massage in the Spa and to have a swimming pool on site was an added bonus as not all hotels have one. The food in the restaurant was very nice and all freshly cooked and the breakfast was a mixture of continental and cooked and had lots of options for everyone. Good that it was self service so can go up and help yourself. The staff were very attentive in making sure that everything was topped up. You could also request other things if you wanted. The room itself was also very good apart from the shower going hot and cold! Very thankful the room had air con! A lovely added touch in the Reception area was the ice cold water with lemon and lime, which guests can help themselves to at any time - a very welcoming refreshment in this heat we have been having to endure! Overall we had a very lovely stay. We would definitely go back again and we would definitely recommend.

I liked staying at this hotel. Excellent location. Easy access to Bournemouth Beach and Pier. Comfortable room. Nice Bar and Garden. A/C and pool were lifesavers on some of the UK’s hottest days this summer. The room carpets need to be better cleaned. The things that have not yet been remodelled are a bit run down. Looks like there has been a selective facelift on the property w/out yet upgrading more costly repairs. But still, it was a nice stay. 7.5 out 10, I would say, with notable bright spots being location, A/C, pool, friendly staff, bar and garden.

I recently stayed at the Grand Hotel in Torquay from Monday to Friday last week with my family, and unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. The hotel is in a fantastic location, making it easy to explore Torquay and walk to the beach. Having two swimming pools was also a nice feature and something the children enjoyed. However, the hotel itself is in desperate need of modernisation. Our biggest concern was safety around the pool. My daughter caught her toe on a loose or damaged tile and injured herself. A manager acknowledged that she had hurt herself but simply walked away without offering any assistance or showing any concern, which was very disappointing. We had booked a family room for four people but were given a room with only one double bed and one single bed. The solution offered was an extra mattress on the floor, which is not what I would expect when paying for a family room. The covered car park was another let-down. The bird netting was torn, allowing birds to get in, and my car ended up covered in bird droppings during our stay. Overall, while the location and pool facilities are positives, they weren't enough to make up for the poor room arrangements, lack of customer care, and the general condition of the hotel. Unfortunately, I won't be staying here again.

The staff were absolutely excellent- friendly, professional and went above and beyond. Nothing was too much trouble. Food was also very good - breakfast and dinner. Wide range of choices cooked and presented excellently. Would definitely stay again - highly recommended.

Beautiful hotel

This was a convenient, clean, comfortable, and inexpensive hotel for our family to stay for our last two nights in London.
