While the hotel looked nice from the outside and the surrounding area was beautiful, the experience was disappointing. The air conditioning didn’t work, and there was no hair conditioner provided. The beach was rocky and poorly maintained. When we arrived at the restaurant 15 minutes before closing, the staff wasn’t accommodating. The outdoor pool didn’t exist, and the small indoor pool was not well maintained. Overall, it fell short of expectations.

Rooms were clean, breakfast was great and location spot on. Pool / Sauna were impeccable but beware extra cost of €20 per day for sauna which seems steep. Only one issue when we had booked a room with a lake view and the trees outside the room blocked the lake view. This was sorted reasonably quickly (within 2 hrs) but beware to ask for a room with no trees blocking the view. Breakfast was great with good selection and attentive staff. Water from the foyer fountain was warm and tasted awful. We enjoyed our stay, it was good rather than great.

I leave this review with genuine sadness. We chose Antiq Palace for its rich history and the grand experience promised on its website, but the reality was deeply disappointing.
From arrival, the property felt eerily desolate, as if we were the only guests there. What hurts most is seeing a historic site of this caliber so neglected. Common areas show a severe lack of maintenance: carpets are dirty, walls and ceilings are stained, and the courtyard looks like an overgrown jungle filled with weeds, dead plants, and broken furniture.
Our room suffered from the same neglect. We found stray hair wrapped around the AC cables, visible dirt, stained walls, and a bathroom plagued by humidity and a persistent bad odor. The furniture throughout was severely worn. To be fair, the bed linens were clean and fresh, which was the single positive detail.
Antiq Palace has immense history and potential. I write this in hopes that management takes urgent action to restore deep cleaning and proper upkeep. Guests deserve the experience advertised, and this historic jewel deserves far better.
