It feels almost like a family run place as you are made to feel very welcome. The rooms are clean and comfortable and you are provided with a bath robe, tea and coffee making facilities and a fridge and hairdryer. El Alamein is an hour away from Alexandria, which wasn’t something we hadn’t fully realised until we got there. Also, it was not peak season so many things were not fully operating, like the Aqua Park. The apartment we stayed in was far away from the nearest pool so we needed to be driven there. I originally booked the Triple Room for 2 nights and ended up extending it an additional 2 to be my home base for my entire visit to Cairo. I picked the room even though I was traveling alone because it was the only one available at the time with a pyramid view. "De La Poste is a good hotel at a fantastic price. The staff are lovely, they serve a good breakfast, the rooms are clean and comfortable and the shower has plenty of hot water. This was our second time staying at the hotel and I would stay again. Sure, the advertised wifi isn’t available but that is a small inconvenience. With all that has happened in the last 6 years, it is a small miracle that independent, family hotels still exist in Egypt. "
