Super Location for anyone visiting Derry - Do eat in the restaurant it's fantastic - so nice we ate dinner there both nights during our stay. Breakfast super also . Staff were the friendliest & most professional I've encountered in such a long time - Edel & Benny at reception were both so welcoming - nothing was a problem . They were so helpful & full of knowledge and information that made our stay so super . I cannot recommend this hotel enough a must of you are visiting Derry -Location/comfort/ food and staff all 5 Stars .

We had a very warm arrival and our room was ready early but unfortunately when we arrived the to I’ll et hadn’t been flushed so worryingly not cleaned. I mentioned this to reception staff and we were offered another room but chose to have toilet cleaned as we had already unpacked. The bedrooms are in need of an upgrade and I can’t wait to see what they do as the decor in The Leaping Hound bar/restaurant is absolutely stunning. We had delicious scones, coffee and Prosecco on arrival then returned for pre dinner cocktail which were absolutely delicious. I hope they light the fires in the adult only sitting areas as this would be extremely cosy in the winter. Our meal in Fratellis was delicious. The decor in here is beautiful with atmospheric lighting and tables spaced nicely apart. The beds were extremely comfortable but I hope they do soundproofing on the rooms when upgrading as we were woken up by doors banging and children crying after midnight. This hotel very much caters for family stays and I was disappointed to see they no longer have spa treatments as this used to be a highlight of this hotel. The breakfast staff were again fantastic. A nice choice but the cooked breakfast was absolutely delicious! Tasted like a home cooked breakfast.

Room was beautiful. Food in restaurant was alright...burger not a great choice! Caffe has amazing options for sweet treats.

It was fine, comfortable bed, decent room etc, and an actual bath, which was great. However, it felt somehow a bit odd and unofficial in its atmosphere. As if it hadn’t completely changed from being just a local pub, and the (nice) staff hadn’t really trained in the hotel business. I’d stay there again though.

The main hotel is well presented and front of house staff were welcoming and accomodating. Free parking is available close by, I was shown to the appartment which is around 150 yards from the main building and situated above a petrol station. The appartment itself was spacious and reasonably clean however it was tired and in need of refurbishment. a fridge freezer was place randomly in the living kitchen area, I assume to account for the built in one which was not useable and not able to be closed properly. usual utensils were available however no complimentary tea or coffe supplied. The bedroom was large and the bed comfortable. there was a rack for hanging clothes but no hangers. The bathroom was OK once I discovered how to get hot water. the bath was slippy and would benefit from a matt. When the fire alarm went off at 05:15 I had to walk to the main hotel reception in the rain to alert the staff that this was going on. They then attempted to turn this off with no success. fire brigade then attended. Overall I would not reccomend the 'comfort' appartments. that being said I'm not sure how good bad or indifferent the main hotel itself is. Breakfast in the attached restaurant was nice.
