Friendly staff. Room clean and adequate and quiet. Shower a little lacking in water pressure but lovely soft fluffy bath sheet towels. Plentiful tea and coffee in room. Didn't try the breakfast but good bar area. Loved the very central position, close to train and bus station links.

Unfortunately there were a few things that took the shine off my stay.
The bathroom chrome was smudged and water marked and there were hairs in the shower. I also ordered room service, a burger well done, which came very, very pink in the middle. For breakfast I ordered porridge with a side of honey, there was no honey on my breakfast tray. If a token gesture of something being taken off the bill for the pink burger I would have left a tip as the waiting staff and reception staff were very friendly and helpful, however as I was presented with a full bill despite my meal being wrong I unfortunately felt I could not leave a tip and when paying the prices charged for staying at Crossbasket the very least I'd expect was a properly cleaned bathroom.

This hotel is rather rundown; limited upkeep and maintenance on property.
Noisy traffic from motorway.
Room okay, good size, bed comfortable.
Breakfast okay. Good selection, Sliced fruit, yoghurts, meats, cheeses, gluten free options, and hot selection with cooked to order avail.
Not worth the cost to stay here.
