Clean and staff was helpful. Check in/out was smooth. Location was ideal because we wanted to explore Connemara and hike Croagh Patrick nearby. Breakfast was amazing and fueled us well for our hike.

Best thing about this place is the bed and reception staff. Bed was incredibly huge and comfortable. Reception staff were great, helpful and understanding. Sadly that's it. The pool area, changing rooms and surrounding areas very unhighenic. Lots was also out of order, the steam room and jacuzzi for example. Broken hairdryers and lockers in the changing rooms. Drinks and dinner was expensive but service was pretty bad. I struggled to get served at the bar while the staff were busy arguing with eachother. Thankfully the reception manager took the outstanding bill off for us when we left as we were so disappointed with our stay.

The hotel is in a stunning location. If you are looking for a peaceful, relaxing stay with great food this is unbeatable. Staff are excellent, welcoming and humorous. And if you want fishing then it is perfect. We will go back.

What an experience! If you have never stayed in a castle before, then this is the one to do. It sets a very high bar for service, quality and experience. One of the best stays in Ireland!

Rooms are on the level of Holiday Inn - basic with an uncomfortable bed and cramped shower. Transfer from Castle: luggage didn’t arrive until bedtime. Dinner staff was amazing and food was delicious and generous. Pool is great - went early am and it was sparkling clean, huge with places to read a book on a cold rainy day.
