First time in Honolulu. My kids and I really enjoyed the hotel. Staff was very helpful and friendly. We loved being beachfront.

The most annoying was that if you go to the beach early, before 10am there are no sun-beds, as the workers collect them every day at 5pm, so you have to leave at 5pm. Also you have to rent a regular umbrella every day for $38, which is annoying. There are no outdoor showers at the beach or pool area, which is not acceptable at this kind of hotel. It is a little overpriced for the amenities offered. The stuff is expecting tips left and right. Every time you want a towel, the stuff does not hand you it, even when asked, they walk with you to the chair on the beach , so you have to tip them. Also the hotel does not clean their beach if there is seagrass on the shore.

The walls are too thins we can hear all what the other are saying or doing in their room it'd was disturbing

Definitely not 5-stars as listed on Expedia. The lobby has been nicely updated, but hallways appear deem and smell, and rooms are dated. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom needed an update. Mirror rust, no fan. The AC was rather noisy and the location of our suite was noisy overall given proximity to the pool. Hotel location is great with Kuhio Beach right across the street. The person that checked us in kept apologizing that services aren't the best. This held true. Housekeeping missed cleaning our room on a number of days. The beach amenities were located in a different hotel altogether. From this, we never bothered to "take advantage" of this. It's inconvenient and takes time. Overall, would I stay here again? No.

The new remodelled rooms are fantastic. The hote is under renovations, but that didn't massively impact the experience. Once completed late this year it will be immaculate.
