Not the worst hotel but definitely not the best. In my opinion, worth it if you're staying in VIP. The rest of the property isn't as nice as the VIP part. The food at the Buffett sucks, breakfast- lunch and dinner! And the restaurants are booked before you can even ask (unless you're vip somehow there's always space). The pools need big maintenance (holes on the floor, lights out of the wall). The shower in the room leaked through, we had to put towels around the edges. The balcony door felt like it was going to fall off every time we opened it. The phone in the room did not work (which they changed after day 2). No ice machine. I've stayed at this resort about 4-5 times and each time gets worse which is sad because it is actually a very beautiful property and has so much potential if it was kept up. However, I still did enjoy the shows, they had a foam party which was super fun, and then a party for everyone at one of the vip pools. I did leave the resort to do outside activities most days but returned early enough to get some pool time (pool closed at 6:15 which also sucks cause we're on vacation not curfew) and there's not much to do after that. Idk it's a love / hate relationship with this place. Just know you're not booking something extraordinary (unless you book vip) and I also recommend cofresi over tropical even though it's all the same property (and of course vip above all).
