(137 reviews) The staff was very nice however I did not appreciate maintenance storming into my room with their own key card and not knocking either, to greet me in my underwear and bra. Hoping that being 72 it damaged his eyes for life.:) I did not appreciate watching my specially made dish being brought and place on 3 different tables in front of 3 different breathing on it people before being brought to me. Otherwise normal average food not over the top and not consistent or made the same way each day. Will never go back! Some venues were closed ( games room and commercial market store) and the restaurants are not open every night they rotate them. The ala carte restaurants were very nice, especially La Adelita (the tableside guacamole was amazing). Walkways were also lovely. If I could change anything, it would be the lunchtime options which are limited, and making the rooms a bit cozier. (1,001 reviews) We fell in love! This is our first time with the Grand Velas brand. We normally stay with the impressions side of secrets but I’m glad we decided to try this resort. It has literally ruined it for us and we can’t see ourselves going to another brand. The service, food and cleanliness is at a meticulous level. We went for 6 days 4 nights. We never had a bad drink or bad food. Everything was absolutely fabulous. Kenia and Patricia on the adults side of the pool are amazing. Omar and Jose Jairo fantastic bartenders with amazing personalities. We enjoying sitting at the swim up talking to them all afternoon. While at the pool we did notice a few guests being rude to the bartenders and snatching bottles of their hands. I hope this is something that doesn’t happen often At the French restaurant where we had dinner twice, Daniel and Angel went above and beyond for us. Extremely kind and knowledgeable, giving great suggestions. I really liked that the manager for the French restaurant runs a strict ship there because everything runs soo smoothly. He also kept checking on us to make sure we were satisfied with everything. The housekeeper for our room and turn down service did a wonderful job each time. Every single employee there is friendly, amazing and sooo hardworking. The hotel is impeccable! We truly were blown away and can’t wait to come back. (1,530 reviews) Room was not in good condition, all 3 rooms we had smelled of mold, were dirty and one of them had an active leak under the bathroom sink. 2 of us got sick immediately after spending the night in the rooms. The hallways smell of mold, the window coverings are trashed and don’t cover the windows like they should. They only provided 3 towels total for 2 people and if you ask for more, they want to replace the ones you have, not give you any extra. The showers are missing doors, so water just gets all over the floor when you shower. There are 2 pools, only one of them is open to “regular” guests, the other pool and only hot tub is only for “royal” people…but rarely used while we were there.
