Great location- across from Central Park. spacious rooms, good customer service.
The AC was loud. The first night we got there, we asked for extra sheets, we were told they were short staffed they would eventually bring the sheets, but no one ever came. I’d recommend if you need extra blankets, bedsheets or towels, request them early morning.

The Riu Plaza Hotel is in a great location when you’re in NY as a tourist. Rooms are small and rather spartan. There is no closet, so I had to unpack in the drawers of the night tables. Also, air conditioning was insufficient, so it felt very hot on most nights of my stay. There were long lines at breakfast; otherwise it was good. Plenty of selections of hot and cold foods

The decor and design was nice. I would rate it as a 2 or 3 star hotel overall. It wasn't my expectation for a 4 star hotel for service, amenities and experience. I had two rooms booked with my party arriving at separate cars. There were issues with check-in process and was very disappointed with handling the situation.

The place and amenities were really nice. The only bad thing was the bathroom got nasty really quick so for me the shared bathrooms won’t work. But they do have private bathroom rooms. Other than the dirty bathrooms not getting cleaned enough everything was great, location and space.
