This is Not a Luxury hotel. The modern room space is perfectly efficient. No carpet, which means cleaner floor (think of carpet as a petri dish) Accomodates comfortable king size bed and a small desk. Great view from floor to ceiling windows. 55 inch TV. Bathroom is similarly clean-line modern, with an economical use of space. At a NYC price point 50% below it's more spacious, luxurious competitors, I would again choose this hotel over any of the others. Affordability without compromise.

Cons The “cafe” and “bar” are pitiful. The room was not cleaned every day. On day three, I called the front desk because I had no clean towels and the trash was overflowing and they told me “our policy is to clean rooms every day, however, to insure a visit from housekeeping, guests must call each day and specifically request one.” That is absurd. Half of the electronics charging ports did not work. The TV remote stopped working in the evening, replacement remote/batteries were not available until the “engineer” reported to work the following morning. The A/C air handler is in the room, and is extremely loud. The towels might scratch your skin off. The vinyl flooring planks were warped and would scrape your bare feet. The bed alcove is so small the bed is only accessible from one side. Pros The lobby area was consistently clean. The lobby desk staff was pleasant. The bed was comfortable. The A/C worked. Someone was available to answer the guest services phone 24/7. They weren’t terribly helpful, but at least someone answered the phone. There are lovely coffee shops within walking distance, as well as nice shops and restaurants in the adjacent neighborhood areas. The train entrance is convenient.

This hotel is right in the heart of Times Square—very accessible, clean, and the staff was helpful. Although I wasn’t there much since I was mostly out exploring, I had no issues during my stay. The only minor confusion was that there are two RIU hotels just a couple of blocks from each other, but that’s not a reflection on the hotel itself

Convenient for walking around. Nice and clean room just little noisy when people talking and walking.

I did not like the decor behind the registration desk. It was not in keeping with the rest of the hotel, which was excellent.

Nice hotel except front desk was a little unfriendly!

Enjoyed the location, breakfast, and staff. Room was small and dated but we made it work esp orally being out and about all day. Would stay there again. Ur for a family of 5 with older teens, I would get two rooms if possible.
