Great facility great location wonderful staff

The hotel was outstanding and beyond our imagination. Perfect location with great amenities and beautiful scenery.

The room was small but comfortable. The décor is dated but still functional. The mattress was excellent, and the foam pillows were comfortable. However, parts of the room layout need attention. In Room 407, the table lamps are placed awkwardly in the corners and are easy to knock over. This setup is not practical and should be reviewed. The bathroom also needs a refresh. The dining area is not well designed. The tables and chairs are awkward to use, and many are too heavy to move easily. The plastic seating near the pool does not work well either. While it appears to follow a modern style, it does not function well in practice. The poolside setup needs improvement. There are too many round beds and not enough standard sunbeds. The area would work better if it were set up primarily with sunbeds rather than a mix. The carpet around the pool is also unhygienic. It should be replaced with suitable plastic matting to prevent hygiene issues. Daily room cleaning was consistent and done well. However, for a 7-night stay, the bed sheets were not changed, which is not acceptable, especially in hot weather. Food and service were excellent with no issues. The gym is air-conditioned and well-maintained, but the layout is poorly designed and feels awkward to use.

This is a wonderful, big, historic hotel. The rooms are quite large by any standard, however furnishings were stark and modern. Bathrooms are big and wonderful. A large tub was included. The breakfast is delicious. One annoying issue emerged during breakfast. A drone flew around the breakfast buffet and adjacent front lobby multiple times making a loud and disruptive hissing noise. Staff could not tell us exactly what the drone was used for. We complained and staff told their manager and it was stopped. Really, a 5 star hotel should be concerned about maintaining a 5 star ambiance in its public spaces at all times. This was a very odd and disconcerting experience. I give credit to the staff for resolving the issue. No further drone activity was spotted during the remainder of our stay.

The staff were very accommodating and friendly, helping with laundry and providing us with information of local restaurants/ activities. The sofa bed was a double, giving enough space for the three of us. The apartment’s location was ideal for walking around Malaga!
