Overall, this is a good hotel, especially for a one-night stay. The room was comfortable, and the location was convenient. However, there were a couple of things that took away from our experience, mainly the customer service at the front desk.
When we arrived to check in, the only front desk employee walked away from the desk and left us waiting, even though I'm sure he saw us come in. There was no greeting or warm welcome. He simply asked if we were checking in, handed us our room key, and that was it.
He didn't explain where the elevators were, mention the location of the pool, or let us know there was a back exit with direct access to the boardwalk. Since there were two different sets of elevators, we had to guess which ones to take to reach our room. A little more communication and a friendly welcome would have made a big difference and created a much better first impression.
Another disappointment was the parking fee. Guests are charged $15 per day for self-parking or $35 per day for valet parking. Considering the cost of staying at the hotel, it would have been nice if parking had been included or at least offered at a reduced rate. Charging extra for parking felt unnecessary and took away from the overall value of the stay.
Despite these issues, the hotel itself was good, but improving the check-in experience and reconsidering the parking fees would make it an even better place to stay.
