V efficient n lovely staff, good choice for breakfast buffet and offers cooked breakfast; clean room, good facilities w sauna/pool/gym, comfy bed/good sleep, near to Arthur's Seat n good outdoor spaces/tourist attractions/Royal Mile; near to a tesco express, cafes/restaurants/RC church. Bus stop is just v near.as well.perfect hotel.

1st and best: you could not find a more helpful, professional and lovely staff. 2nd: The Scotsman is a step away from The Royal Mile: so museums, the Castle, Holyrood, restaurants, St. Giles,etc. Walking is easy. Shopping is a given. One thing to know about The Scotsman: there are stairs. The lift is in the process of repair so there are lots of stairs. But that being said: staff will help with all of it.

fast wifi, rooms are old fashioned but in keeping with the building, bed comfy, bathroom small but clean

I was up on the 2nd floor so had to go up a lot of stairs with my heavy suitcase. The shower didn't function well. The water was either very hot or very cold.

Had a wonderful stay staff really friendly and helpful room was really clean with all amenities you would need. Would recommend perfect place to stay home from home

All the staff were friendly and helpful - the concierge, reception, cleaners, spa. They helped organise a surpise for a celebration and went above and beyond to make the stay special A grreat location for exploring Edinburgh

Do not stay in a room just off the bar as these are very noisy as they don’t close the doors to the rooms

Stay at this hotel. It felt like our home away from home in Edinburgh. Rianne (I think that’s how her name is spelled) and the staff were so welcoming and accommodating, which makes a big difference when you’re traveling in a foreign country. The bed was comfy, the breakfast was the best we had at any hotel in Scotland, the location was excellent - central to everything but still pretty quiet for a good night’s rest. Also, we always saw the housekeeping team working very hard to keep the hotel clean. Thank you to the whole team for a wonderful stay. We can’t wait to return!

This was such a lovely apartment. Light-filled with fantastic views and in a great location. The flat had everything we needed and we were well taken care of.
