British Colonial is a very elegant hotel with great amenities for a 4-star. If you're looking for a quieter, much more affordable place to stay than Atlantis or Baha Mar, this is it. It's also right in the center of town so you can walk to everything.

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary here as we had the year prior when we stayed at RIU in Cabo. The good, the food at the buffet and specialty restaurants was very good, the beach with white sand, no stones or shells to cut your feet was beautiful. Nightly entertainment included dancers that were talented and entertaining. Views from the balcony were great and closeness to Atlantis was also a plus as that establishment is a must see..The not so good, staff is very inconsistent when approaching guest, we were not offered champagne upon arrival as some were. Many staff, female seemed almost indifferent to connecting with you like passing you a drink while looking away..problems with our room like phone never worked and room air was off and took hours to get cool Did not seem to garner much concern. Smaller property with only two pools one was swim up bar … 24hr bar was nice but ended up a hang out for the intoxicated….Its an 8..7.8

We were supposed to be at the Royal which would have been a much more convenient but our reservation was moved to the Reef due to an upgrade. I would have much rather stayed at the Royal.

Our villa was spacious and clean. The kitchen was somewhat dated with older appliances though everything worked. The ensuite laundry was nice to have. Our room was quiet and the staff were, without exception, friendly and helpful. The resort has many excellent dining and shopping options. The shuttle runs regularly and stops at all of the hotels within the resort.

Our family had a great time at Atlantis staying at the Reef. We got two rooms for the four of us and the beds were comfortable. We also made use of the pull out couch and after we put the couch cushions under the mattress it was very comfortable. Pools and beaches were excellent. Staff were wonderful. We did a bit of snorkeling and found a good amount of fish and turtles from both the Paradise and Cove beaches. We also enjoyed the water park. Dining and drink options were plentiful, but all were very expensive. Although the portion sizes at Carmines made up for the costs and we were lucky to have a refrigerator to take some back with us. Going just off premises was less expensive. The buses around the resort were very convenient and we didn't need outside transportation. We took a half day trip to the Blue Lagoon and it was right across the street from one of the stops on the shuttle. We did have a couple issues with the water going out for a little while one day and on the last morning before check out the hot water ran out which is why we gave less than full stars. Overall though it was a wonderful family trip and we would do it again. Thank you

The beach was awesome and the view from the room great. The big problem was they have a buffet and three restaurants. You have to have a reservation to eat at the restaurants. We tried to get a reservation first thing after we checked in and all 3 restaurants were booked for the whole week so nothing but the buffet for us. We really wanted to try the different restaurants
