7.8/10 Good! (475 reviews)
We have been here many times over the years. This was the first time since it reopened as Paradisus after refurbishment. We decided to try the Reserve level. It was much more expensive and did not offer very much extra in terms of facilities or dining options.
The Reserve Pool area is enclosed by a concrete wall like a stockade or prison. It is still the windiest pool and we spent more time around the lagoon pool on the sheltered & sunnier side of the hotel. Reserve also offered breakfast in a separate dining area with table service. This area also served as a bar & lounge for Reserve during the day. Again we didn’t spend any time in there. The hotel was NOT full and a lot of staff were wandering around asking if everything was alright but they didn’t really want to hear anything but yes.
The huge sandy beach is the attraction of this hotel for us and it is likely we will return, but not to the Reserve Level.

Not our best holiday by far, can’t put my finger on it But everyone & everything was hard work, felt constantly you were doing something wrong..
The bookings all had to be done on app, for breakfast / lunch / dinner had to be placed night before & if you want to change it omg, it was like I asked them to redecorate!!!
You were left standing waiting for table for at least ten minutes , when the place was half empty..( I know they were under staffed ) but I have cancer & a walking stick , which they could see but still left us standing..
The restaurants were all freezing , they left door open & the wind was blowing through & again when I asked them to close the door ( as you could see everyone else was freezing, they didn’t like it !!
Breakfast a bird constantly flew in & was nibbling at the bread.
The spa booking system the same , you walked to spa & asked to come in & ‘have you booked’ No because I didn’t know it would be cloudy & want to come in & keep warm… you should book first She says… so go to main reception to book in & they tell me to book at spa !!!
We had a suite, which was nice but the balcony view was a high solid wall , so when sitting you couldn’t see through.. many other balcony’s had mesh walls, which would have been better.
We asked for the my boys suite to have a sofa bed made up & they pulled out a single from under sofa !
The rooms were not emptied of empty bottles / coffee pods everyday..
The noise in bathroom from other toilets flushing was very loud.

The entire Hotel from the Front Door to all areas were absolutely spotless. The staff and food complimented this hotel and was one of the best we have stayed in for a long while.
The only drawback was the lack of sunbeds and people booking them with towels from 7am...unfortunately this is purely down to space available in the build.

7.4/10 Good! (165 reviews)
We have visited this hotel a few times. It is centrally located with great access to the main strip and buses to connect with other parts of the island. We have hired cars on some occasions but parking can be a bit of an issue - especially on market day when part of the main carpark is taken over by the market. There is a lovely, wide, white sandy beach just across the road and it is possible to walk to the ‘old town’ either along the beach itself or via the coastal footpath which overlooks the beach. We usually like to stay on the 6th floor but the lower rooms had been totally refurbished on our most recent visit - so we opted for the refurbished apartment and lost the sea view (we were quite happy with our choice but the room was a little noisy as it faced a night club in the shopping centre opposite). Also the pool area and sunbathing areas were much improved and extremely comfy this visit - our only complaint is the inconsistency with the pool heat - great when the heating was on but it was often left unheated for long periods during our stay - there was just no consistency.
The staff are all welcoming and efficient, helpful & friendly and did everything possible to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
Thank you all - we hope to return soon.
