The location of this property can’t be beat. With that being said, the rooms are tired and in need of a refresh. I’ve been staying here for years and nothing has changed.
Upon check in I was given a key to a room that was already occupied. When I returned to the front desk they could no longer find my reservation and were less than helpful. I ended up on the phone with hotels to get it sorted out before they would check me in.
The rooms are dank and old. Bathrooms are dirty and very basic.

Historical property recently updated. Great location, so close to UC-Berkeley, BART and restaurants. Our only complaint was the trifecta of noise generators in our room - the wall A/C, an auxiliary A/C unit and the loudest small fridge we have ever encountered. But the shower was great, the bed was very comfortable.
