we stayed here during our first night and then our last night while traveling throughout Costa Rica. the hotel is close to the airport, although you would never know it. feels like you are far in the jungle. the rooms are large and beautifully decorated with terraces . the property and landscaping is amazing, especially the sunset pool. I had a massage, and it was excellent in a beautiful facility. We loved our dinners and breakfast at the hotel, and most of all we loved the kindness and helpfulness of the staff, especially the rooms manager. Hope to be back soon!

Stopped by this resort in 2007 to walk the Falls Trail, had to comeback & stay. Spent 2 nights for a group of 7 in JULY 2026. We had a Deluxe King Room & the Monarch Lago Villa which has 3 bedrooms. Everyone loved everything. The charm of the property is amazing. Aside from the animal exhibits and trails, we participated in trout fishing, butterfly experience & watching the feeding of the big cats. All those activites are included for overnight guest. We all did and highly recommend the nightly Frog Tour for $10pp. We eat all our meals on-property, the food & service was great. We did not do the lunch buffet to avoid the "daily-fee" guest who come to walk the waterfall trails and eat at the buffett. In our 3 day/2 night stay , there was a period it rained and I mean rained " Hard" for almost 38 hours straight. No joke....we had never experienced that in our lives. The weather radar showed Red Cell wave after wave hitting us. This led to cancelling our tour/hike of Poas Volanco National Park ( 30 min drive ) & staying 100% of the time on-property. While this stay was the start of our 11 nights in Costa Rica & basically the only time it rained for more than an hour at a time, we all felt that the rain made the Peace Lodge more magical and had it rained like that at any of our other stops/accommodations, it would have been a MAJOR damper on the trip. The cold water pool by the Trout Bar was a favorite and there are umbrellas everywhere to be used if it rained.

The hotel overall was fine for our stay which was to be close to the airport. The reception staff were not very welcoming nor informative but other than that all was ok.

Our room was not ready at check in and it was not quickly ready either. Also, we stayed at the clan tower and it needs serious help. It’s dated with mildewed walls and bathrooms and decor that feels like it’s half trashed. Decorative lights in our room were broken and it just felt like it needs some help. The staff are lovely! The club food was ok. Nothing great though. The hot tub was also broken and the tiles are half missing. Basically this hotel wants to be luxury - but it’s not!!! It’s still a nice hotel though.

Property designed and made for people Who want to relax.Well kept, limited menu and my only suggestion is to stop calling the guest to their rooms to remind the different eating times. It can be interrupting and is unnecessary. Decorations are very will developed in Costa Rican style and very fine test. Wi fi is excelente and the best of the resort is the personnel, just and outstanding group people. Woul have liked a wider range of options to choose from. Climate is fresh and a little humid but very characteristic of the area and not to the point of feeling uncomfortable. The quiality of the food, although limited, well preseted and very tasty. If I had to spend time relaxing and with family or my partner looking for rest and quiet, it’s very recomendable.

The rooms were clean, the food was very good, the staff was amazing! Our guide on the excursions was an official guide set up by the hotel. His name is Jairo and he was amazing. We csnnot say enough about how good he was. Fluent english and Spanish and his knowledge and expertise was astounding!
