The Tiger Lilly was fun, and lively. The staff was helpful in all areas: food, and guest services. The Saturday boozy brunch had a DJ with a great vibe. Even with music you couldn’t hear in your room. Room was clean quiet, dark with sleep in curtains, AC worked well. Room very comfortable

Obviously costs some serious money to stay here -- but so beautiful. Room was comfortable and spacious; best night's sleep we had on our UK trip.

Beautiful and clean property right in the center of Edinburgh Old Town! Only issue was that the pull-out couch mattress was extremely worn out and uncomfortable - I had to sleep on the couch cushions on the floor.

We stayed in the deluxe 2 bedroom unit and it was very spacious and clean. The beds were comfy and the bedrooms had black out curtains. I sent a message in advance asking for the beds in one of the rooms to be separated and they were each made with their own duvet and bedding, which we really appreciated (they were separated a couple of inches which was sufficient for us). We arrived around 12:30 and were able to store our bags at the The Scotsman Hotel. I sent a message asking if the unit was ready and received a call around 2:00pm that it was ready. We were already up at the castle at that time, but it was nice of them to call. The kitchen was well stocked for making breakfast with a Nespresso maker, microwave, pans, etc. There’s a Tesco Express less than 1 block away where you can get stuff for breakfast. The unit had nice shampoo and body wash and they left tea, coffee capsules, creamer, sugar and biscuits. It’s located in New Town in an area of row houses about a 15-20 minute walk to Royal Mile. The plus side is this area is not touristy; local residents live in this area and there are restaurants and coffee shops close by. It’s also much quieter and calm than the touristy Old Town area. The downside is that the walk to the Old Town is not far but it is uphill. Overall, we enjoyed being in a calmer area and were very pleased with the spacious accommodations, the 2 bathrooms, and the comfy beds, and would stay here again.

My wife and I loved this place. It was very charming and the staff were great. The food was excellent as we had dinner and breakfast. We had the small plates for dinner because the restaurant was booked full but our small plate dishes were excellent. Quite frankly I would have the small plates for dinner rather than a full dinner. I would definitely go back to this place and recommend to friends traveling to Scotland

Very good location. Walkable to sightseeing.

Clean, spacious bathroom. My room had bathroom grout mold on floor and shower. Big TV and closet space a plus.

Hotel was not in the type of neighborhood I expected. My room (96) on the 0 floor required me to go through two closed doors. The hall lights were motion activated and stepping into a dark, closed hall was a little unnerving. 1 front desk person was very nice, all others were pretty disinterested. Although my room was fine, I heard many other guests complain about maintenance issues. The free breakfast consisted of either croissant or chocolate roll. They said juice, but in four days I never saw any. You had to be there early or they ran out as they were first come, first serve. If anyone was making noise in a nearby room you could hear all the noise All in all, I would not stay there again.
