We really enjoyed our stay. A large hotel with lots of amenities. The rooftop pool was awesome. Great food and bats. The staff was super accommodating and nice. Would stay again.

Horrible checkin / checkout... Would never stay there again...Double charged me entire stay and still fighting to get someone to refund 2nd one that is so clearly a duplicate for same stay....

Good morning. I wanted to try and reach the correct management for this Riu and hopefully it's you. We stayed at Riu plaza Miami Beach 1 night before our cruise Saturday August 29th checked out August 30th. Reception was really friendly and the rest goes down. Only 1 elevator working, we had room 907 room had moldy mildew smell that was terrible, room was clean beds are worn out. We paid extra for supper and let me tell you it was terrible, I could have went to McDonald's and had a better meal, a bottle of tea was $7.44 ridiculous! Service was good. We went back to the room hungry and tried sleeping but moldy mildew smell sent our breathing and allergies going crazy, not to forget how terrible the beds were, also I itched all night from the bed. We went to breakfast and it was about the same. When we went to checkout I told front desk a little but not everything because they was charging me a resort fee for use of facilities etc. I explained that we hadn't used the facilities as we checked in at 530 range and left at 930 am. I still had to pay it!! I tried to explain but they still charged I even told them. We paid in excess of $285 plus resort fees and food was included but would never do that again. We was assuming that being RIU it would be outstanding. We've stayed at around 8 to 10 different Riu resorts Mexico Jamaica Dominican and New York. Just feel like ripped off and wasted my money. Had been to Ft. Lauderdale and wanted to check for a decent none night stay in Miami and found this hotel Thro Expedia . Expedia rated this high and happy that we chose this place . Nice location. 5 mins off the beach . The beach is just walkable from this hotel. Very good service . The guy in lobby was very helpful . There was a donminos pizza next door , which was very useful for kids. Amenities were decent . They had an outdoor swimming pool . Slightly smaller .. there were 2-3 families swimming and it was almost full :) washer dryer worked but it was good .. elevator was small and sometimes slow . We didn’t find a gym. No complimentary breakfast.. parking was a bit wierd and cramped ! They charged per night which was slightly expensive . The rooms were awesome ! It was good sized for the price . Also had a kitchen.. though we didn’t use the kitchen , it is very good to have , just incase . Bed was comfortable .. bathrooms were neat . Price wise I think this room was very good and value for money . Wanted to give 3 , but just for the room and pricing , I’m giving it a 4 . Good experience overall .
