Kintyre Adults Only Holidays

Our room was opposite the lift and having arrived late, we were then woken very early (6.10am) by the ding dong sound of the lift as well as the sounds of people talking. The sound insulation along the corridors is awful. The staff kindly moved us to a different room, which helped with the lift sound but not the talking of other residents which started at 7.30am on a Sunday. Due to all the tiled floors sound seemed to reverberate around the hotel. The hotel seems to be going under renovation so I am hoping they will sort out the sound insulation.

The view out the front window of the hotel is beautiful. The food was ok.. not amazing. I ordered the risotto and it was terrible. We ended up walking to a nearby restaurant for drinks and their restaurant was booked and had more options. Jay the manager was super friendly and the room was comfortable and the bathrooms newly renovated and clean.

The castle was an incredible experience. The hospitality and professionalism of the staff was amazing. We experienced supreme service in all aspects of the property. We dined in the Ramsay, the bar, and The Dungeon. The service, staff attitude, and aptitude were faultless. The chef’s preparation and presentation was impressive leaving us with divine dining experiences. The entire stay was a very special experience and we would not hesitate to repeat it.

It was a really nice property and was really well managed. Our room was very well equipped and clean. We’d definitely love to come again!

Loved the style of the hotel. Stunning decor and very comfortable beds. Staff were also delightful and well informed. The pool was a really decent size - though in contrast to the rest of the hotel the pool area is very grey and uninteresting. Also no jacuzzi. Food and drink very good and the dining room is beautiful. We had a spa suite which was very spacious and comfortable BUT be warned - it is a very long walk from these to the main hotel. I counted walking through 8 fire doors before getting to the spa and from there I think there were another 3 or 4 before reaching the lift! For me there were a few niggles about the room. 1. No magnifying shaving/makeup mirror in the bathroom. I have bad eyesight so couldn’t see to put makeup on 2. Weirdly there was no plug on the sideboard for plugging in the kettle. We had to plug it in on the floor! (Room designer needs a planning lesson) 3. I would have liked a bath as well as shower. I think in a suite you might expect both. But overall a really lovely hotel and I would definitely go back
