Zillertal is part of the Austrian state of Tyrol. Surrounded by 3000m glaciated peaks, this beautiful area consists of 25 towns and gets its name from the River Ziller, which runs through the valley.

The area of Zillertal gives access to one of the world’s largest ski valleys, comprising four extensive ski areas: Hochzillertal-Hochfugen, Zillertal Arena, Mayrhofner Bergbahnen and Ski – Gletscherwelt Zillertal 3000. With around 315 miles of perfectly groomed slopes and 181 modern lifts, there are near-limitless winter sport opportunities here. There’s everything in Zillertal from challenging black pistes and powder runs for advanced skiers to wide, gentle slopes for beginners.
Other facilities in the Zillertal ski areas include freeride and snowboard fun parks, ski kindergartens and ski racecourses. The valley is also dotted with charming ski huts housing restaurants, traditional cafes and sunny terraces, from which to admire the views.

In summer, cable cars take visitors up to explore some 745 miles of mountain bike trails and 870 miles of hiking trails. Other activities in the Zillertal Valley include golfing at an 18-hole five-star golf course, rock climbing, via ferrata, and swimming in the numerous open-air pools.
