"We have just returned home from our three night stay at Monika's. The beds are so comfortable, rooms spacious and oh so quiet. We did not hear a thing inside or outside the entire time we were there. Beautiful views surround the area. Hope to return soon to check out some hiking trails. Thanks Monika."

"Dated Sept 12, 2026 Despite all the terrible reviews we have seen the hotel room was very clean and the beds were very good. We enjoyed our stay and if we ever return to Gold River that is where we will stay. On the other hand we went to the other hotel's restaraunt to have a bite to eat and even though we only ordered an appetizer it took over 45 minutes to get our food."

"I was delighted that there was electricity and lighting as I had prepared for a complete bothy (Scottish mountain refuge) experience. It made manoeuvring around at night easier. I also greatly appreciated the 2 gallon tanks of water with the nifty electric pump. One was enough for me. I also had kindling and fire starters ready for me to help dry out after a soaking arrival. It has also been a great privilege to be welcomed to the Mowachaht lands and to experience a moment of this profoundly special place. Every visitor should tread lightly and leave no trace. Honour the pristine wilderness."
