Nice location and friendly staff. Breakfast was good. The “handicapped” elevator from the street level to the front desk did not appear to work. We saw several people with canes and walkers struggling with the stairs.

Useless, terrible wifi. Well known by staff when issue brought up (“yeah we know”) but apparently not important to owners. Some moderately effective wifi is no longer a luxury IMO, rather a necessity, especially for foreign tourists.

It is close to river, city center lots of sight seeing spots. I live in the room with good river view. Price of hotel car parking is reasonable but the numbers of space are limited. Website of hotel is not informative, e.g. without route map to hotel, details of rooms etc.

The room we received was located along a busy street, causing the window to rattle and disturb our sleep every time a vehicle passed by during the night. Although the parking facilities were understandably closed due to flooding, the cost of the discounted alternative parking was higher than the price initially agreed upon at the time of booking. This was observed even though non-discounted parking options were available during our stay. On certain occasions, the staff behaved in an unfriendly manner, though I wouldn't say this was the case with everyone there. The breakfast offered was disappointing, with a fee that did not reflect its quality. Having stayed here multiple times in the past, we have decided not to return.

Dear Simon,We are sorry to hear you were disappointing with your stay. Unfortunately, we cannot help the sound of the surroundings being a city centre hotel. The NCP prices do vary depending on the amount of time spent in there; our discount voucher knocks approx 30% off the total price for the time spent in there, so we cannot tell what the exact price is. I am sorry you found our staff to be unfriendly - we receive many comments on how hospitable our staff are across all departments so I am sorry to hear your experience did not reflect this. We enjoyed our stay at the Queens Hotel. The room was spacious and comfortable. The location was a big plus as it is a walkable distance from the parts of the city and the sites we wanted to see.

Good value as a mid-week get-away. We had a pleasant view over the river. Room was fine, but the lighting was a bit strange as two of the side lights were linked to the rather harsh ceiling light. No coffee pod machine at this price, but Yorkshire tea, of course!

I really enjoyed the room, it was fresh, clean and spacious and the location to the city centre was great, it made for a great base near the Viking Festival, to return to easily, to have a break and rest. I found the staff really friendly and knowledgeable to help with good places to try. The only downside was hearing talking from the from the guests in the room next to me, and the Hotel Wi-Fi was good until it was heavily used at peak time, which caused latency. I would definitely stay here again though

Staff very helpful and pleasant. Helped with taxis and where to eat when we were meeting other friends. Rooms were clean, tidy and warm once the heating was switched on. Will definitely stay at this hotel again. Lovely view of the river from the bar, most relaxing.

Absolutely fine, would stay again.
Friendly welcome, efficient and helpful reception. Room clean, big velux style window so good light which is unusual for hotels in my experience. The only thing I didn’t like was the shower curtain over the bath, it was clean but a screen would be better. The extra parking charge is expensive but it’s so convenient I paid it happily.

Quaint hotel in a Great Location!

Perfect location for city and station.
Queens Hotel is a great location along the river just a few minutes walk to the shops and 10 minutes from the station. Staff were friendly, breakfast was excellent. Limited evening meal options but plenty of places to eat very close by.

Excellent value. We had a family room for 4 the room was large but not enough plug sockets at all considering we had a laptop ipad 4 power banks and 4 iphones the sockets (only two ) were under the tv the beds were right on the other side of the room so very inconvenient to charge anything. Bathroom was very clean lots of towels and tea and coffee making facilities. The breakfast was absolutely gorgeous plenty on offer for either continental or cooked breakfast. I would stay here again

This hotel was reasonably priced and in a walkable area. Good breakfast. The bathtub was nice. The staff were not friendly and the walls are paper thin. A staff member came to our room in the evening telling us that people were complaining our tv was too loud. We have never had that experience before. I wouldn't stay there again.

This is a great place to stay in York. It's just across a bridge from the old town, it's a short walk to the train station and has on-site covered parking. The rooms are nice, the facility is modern and right on the river, and their breakfast is great. This was our second stay and we wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Great find in York!
Could probably do with a bit of updating, but the location of the hotel is amazing - secure underground car parking a bonus! Reception welcoming and helpful. Breakfast great value self service. Couple of negatives - not enough plug sockets in the room (non at the side of the beds and only one at the desk!) and on moving one of the beds food/biscuits, a bobble and various other bits were discovered!
