Sol Beach Namhae

"I would give 5 stars on the property alone but taking a star away for the front desk. They did absolutely nothing to make us feel welcome. No explanation of the property, WiFi, breakfast, etc. just checked us in with minimal effort. The property is huge but stunning. We went to Namhae to visit the temple and a few other sites but wish we had more time on property. Make sure to walk all around for the most gorgeous scenery and views. There is a cafe/wine bar/eatery detached from the main which is a must visit especially at sunset. We were just in awe at how beautiful the scenery was. Take time to soak it in. Rooms were good. Comfy beds. Ate at the main Korean restaurant that was pretty good."

"Ten minutes walk from the bus station the hotel room was spacious, well equipped and comfortable. The hotel itself was probably the best we stayed in during a three week visit to the country. Regular buses go to the market down town. Note that reception is not open at all times and that the breakfast, which was basic coffee, cornflakes etc, is avaliable in an area which probably seats nine at a push. This was not a problem for us."

"We had a great stay here in the family room. Loved being right on the water with the views of ferries, fishing boats, etc. Although the boats can be a little loud when coming and going in the early hours, the room/location itself is pretty quiet. Staff were very nice and although they don't speak much English you can communicate easily using your phone's translation apps (like Papago). Cooking utensils in the room were very limited but we loved the free fresh ground espresso in the lobby and Tongyeong has many inexpensive and delicious food options. Overall, the hotel and room are somewhat aged and faded and the amenities are quite basic, but we didn't care: the bed was clean and comfortable and the location is unbeatable. For the price it was a great deal."
