We regret that the work on the main facade of the Inn, which is very clearly a work in progress and has involved the replacement of the column bases (a major undertaking last Fall) leaving you with the impression of neglect. All that remains is the difficult task of getting the painter to site inbetween all the rainy and too cold to paint days. Anyone who knows the Cape Cod weather will marvel at how good it all looks given the tiny window of opportunity.we have had to complete 2 decks, hand rail, ceiling etc - we are 95% there and we greatly appreciate the words of encouragement we get from all our guests. Thank you for your understanding.

Hi Steve, Thank for your kind words about the inn, we really appreciate them. In respect of the room size, all our rooms have sizes noted when you choose them, but we are sorry you feel yours was somewhat small. Room rates also reflect the high level of service and amenities included in your stay, and therefore room size is only a part of the pricing structure. We are disappointed that your stay with us fell short of your expectations. Your point made about our staffing level probably owed more to your daily/nightly routine rather than our staff to guest ratio of 9:18. We need this high number of staff for our size to maintain our high reputation for outstanding personal service and presentation of the inn. Neither we nor our staff were offered any opportunity to show you this as you were rarely seen at breakfast or in the inn. We must have misread your body language which we took as meaning do not disturb 24/24hrs. We did ask upon the odd occasion that we saw one of you, whether you needed anything...NO! Perhaps the most memorable exchange was when we suggested you might like to go to an island... there are islands? Dont worry, you would have found them highly overrated we think.

Thank you for your kind and generous praise. in nearly ten years of our business, we can recall only a handful of occasions where we have had this inconsiderate behaviour from our guests. We are so sorry that these guests made such an unwanted impact on your stay. We worked out very quickly when we re-opened the Inn in 2007, that weddings, family reunions and groups of people can very often spoil the enjoyment of other guests. We adopted a ban on weddings, wedding groups and large reunions for that reason. This is no consolation we know as far as you are concerned. Thanks once again for your feedback
