What a perfect place! Super cute. The location is perfect. Cute patio area to hang out and/or eat al fresco. Super nice staff. Definitely hike - Blue Ridge to Inspiration Point(!). Then drive up to see the view also. I can’t wait to go back. Even though the description doesn’t say, the room has a microwave(!).

Paid extra for an early check in. (1pm) Got there and were told no early check in. Spent 2 hrs sitting in the parking lot across the street. The bed was terrible and the room was dirty

Your early check-in was granted as a courtesy without charge. We understand that you had requested early check-in; however, as we did advise you before your arrival that "Early check-in may be available. . ." Unfortunately, on your arrival date, early check-in was not possible, even though we were able to get check you in a little early before 4pm. We would love to know more about the condition of your room.

I love the palce. We stayed for 2 nights and one of them was a snowy day! The cabin is perfect. Sadly we couldnt use the fireplace because there was something wrong that has to be fixed. Kitchen is small and so adorable but lacked of basic things like a pan, glasses, and trash bags ....but overall we were very happy with our stay! Cabin is for 3 but sofa bed is kind of uncomfortable to sleep in and there was no blankets for it. Fortunately we brought some just in case. The view outside the cabin is so nice, we enjoyed a lot our walks. Price is ok.

Unhappy manager
The manager was surprisingly unhappy with people arriving there. We got there at 4:40 pm (the check-in time was 4 pm). The front desk door was closed, nobody answered the phone, and we waited for 10 mins outside in the blizzards. There was another guest that came 5 mins before us also waiting. After some time, we found a worker outside, and he told me to come back in 2 mins. Went back to a car, and came back after 15 mins, and the front desk door was still locked. I found the guy working in one of the cabin rooms, and he angrily said “I told you to come back in 2 mins. I was waiting at the front desk for 5 mins”. He then told me the room would be ready in an hour. There was another group that came an hour earlier, and they were told to wait for an hour, and then for another hour. It turns out that the worker I talked to was a manager. Maybe he was frustrated with the delay in getting the rooms set up, but it was definitely not a great experience, especially for $440/night.

I loved the cabin, it was very cute and cozy. However, it was atrociously loud and bright all night with the heater being out of service. I appreciated the reception desk staff being so kind throughout my stay at Grand Pines. They were extremely helpful and informative.

My hotel stay was a complete letdown. The room, falsely advertised with a promised king bed, turned out to have a measly queen bed. Beyond that, the state of cleanliness was abysmal – feces in the shower, a filthy stove, bathroom, kitchen, and furniture that hadn't seen a cleaning in ages. It was a disheartening experience, and I expected much more for the price paid. I sincerely hope the management addresses these concerns to avoid similar disappointments for future guests.

Great location, comfortable bed and clean. We had no hot water or heat for the first night of our stay. Also we could hear our neighbors at 1:00am. The walls are thin. We did not complete our stay as a family. However my husband and son didn’t mind the absence of showers.

My husband family and I wanted for the longest time to have a Christmas together in the mountains and this was the perfect spot. The staff were very welcoming from the beginning and makes us feel home. We had a terrific time and it was the best Christmas ever .

Travelocity booked us for a king deluxe cabin but the property didn’t have one for us and we had to have a queen bed instead. The kitchen wasn’t stocked well at all. They need better pots and pans, glasses, toaster, griddle for pancakes. For a family trying to make a dinner would be impossible. There should be tea and hot chocolate provided, not just coffee. There should be a little table with chairs to eat breakfast etc in the room. There is $25 early check in fee that is ridiculous. There should be one bundle of free firewood for guests instead of charging another $15. The best part was the staff. They were very helpful and our bedroom was cute and clean. Maybe have the owners check out the kitchen supplies. Otherwise it is a cute cabin.

The number for after hours check in was unclear. Heater did not work and the "call center" did not send anyone to fix it. I finally texted another number and someone came close to midnight. Bidet did not work properly and sprayed water all over the bathroom. Complimentary wine was missing. Sugar packets in the coffee service looked like it was wet and dried. Coffee maker did not work properly and there were no instructions.

It was very cute and clean. I didn’t like that they charge you if you were early check in before 4 o’clock and they charge you for late check out but I will go back again I really liked it.

The cabin is advertised as rustic, but it has a lot of conveniences, such as free WiFi, ample parking, a small but well appointed bathroom, air conditioning, heating, a microwave oven, and mini fridge. The cabin itself is little too cramped, with the bed taking up almost the whole room. The cabin are the located close to some really good restaurants, parks, hiking trails, and hilly, winding streets, to make a walk a welcome challenge, and friendly people everywhere. Altogether, I recommend this place.

This was my second time staying here--coincidentally in the same room--and I really like it. The room is nice, the bed is comfortable, the bathroom is spacious, and the location is excellent. You are pretty much in the center of town. The only thing that I'd change is that it isn't easy to reach someone if you have questions. Nearly everything is done virtually including check in. I was arriving very late at night and wanted to know what I had to do to get into my room. It took several tries to reach someone. When I did, that person was very helpful.
