"Give Josiah on reception a pay rise! Booked this hotel last minute after issues with my rental car at 10pm. After waiting 50 minutes for the shuttle bus to arrive and having phoned the hotel twice and being told both times ‘it’s 5 minutes away’, I ended up getting a cab from JFK. The driver had said he’d take me for $10 and didn’t start his meter but then wanted cash which I didn’t have. Still cross about the lack of the advertised shuttle bus, I asked in reception if I could get any cash back on my card to pay the cab, While the duty manager disappeared into the back office to avoid the issue, Josiah gave me his own $10 tip money from his pocket. Felt terrible as I still couldn’t get any cash to repay him his great service saved me from complaining about the terrible shuttle service!"

"First time in NY & very impressed with the hotel. Nice being close to airport/ shuttle service. We live about same distance from SFO & always hear the planes but didn’t & Voco. There is a club on the property so did hear a little noise from the on Friday night but not too bad. We even walked to the Target shopping center in Thur eve (about 10 min away) & felt safe enough. Cons were: room had no microwave & wish shower faucets were better situated. Interior of the lobby & halls were nice & the room felt newly remodeled. We didn’t try the lobby restaurant or the rooftop restaurant . Best thing about the hotel was Andrew at the desk when we checked in Thur afternoon. He had awesome customer service while on the phone when I called from the airport to inquire about shuttle pickup & while he was talking to another guest as we approached the desk. Very informative & friendly! The young woman at checkout on Saturday was kind too ."
