Beautiful home right on the river. Screened pool for bug free fun and grilling.
Beautiful home right on the river. Nice view from the charming screened porch off the master and one of the other bedrooms. More views from the main TV room and pool. I cannot say enough about the cleanliness of this home. I have weekly maid service for my home and she’s good; but she cannot touch whoever does this home. The gas “golf” cart was excellent for carrying supplies to the well lit boat dock with its own landing. I don’t pickleball, but everything you need is provided. There’s somewhere around 10 bikes, but I didn’t count them. I have never stayed in a rental so well stocked. In addition to a regular coffee maker there is a Keurig pod maker. There are TV’s in all the bedrooms AND kitchen. The main TV room has seating with 4 independent electric recliners. The TV includes too many channels and Netflix and more. Joel is a phone call away, but I missed meeting him. He doesn’t bother you unless you have a question. Check in is very seamless and flexible to use the pool upon early arrival if cleaning is not quite finished. Washer/dryer/dishwasher/a large pedestal fan for someone used to sleeping with one, but each room has a ceiling fan. The grounds are beautiful. There is a Dollar General and grocery store and a gas store not 2 miles away. It was just a great place and I very highly recommend that you don’t hesitate to make it your next family stay. John

Beautiful property with lots to do.
The property was as described and full of history. We enjoyed learning about the house. There is lots to do from riding bikes, nearby hiking, and the pool. Great property.

Another great stay
I keep coming back to this beautiful and comfortable home for many reasons: It is in a quiet an accessible location, and has all of the entertainment and conveniences you could desire! A significant feature is the outstanding scenery in a spectacular private park-like setting and the riverfront location. I also love the heated pool! I am already looking at the calendar for another visit.

Fantastic house and vacation
Loved the house. All the amenities you need for your family. We stayed a week and loved it. Everything you need is in the house. Pool was fantastic. Did some fishing from the boat dock. Fish were jumping in the river, but did not like our bait. I will be booking this house again for a family vacation.

Very Restful
This is our second time staying at the property. Its amazing Joel is fantastic easy communication . We have already booked for nest year. It is so beautiful and peaceful we enjoyed the pool , pickleball , and fishing. When you go there its a feeling of coming home. Cant wait to go back. Everyone is so friendly and nice!

Place to relax
We had a great and relaxing stay. The property is beautiful and the owner so helpful. We were there for a month, had some family visit, plenty of room for all of us. We took our pet, he loved the freedom of the yard. The town is small but everything we needed and sites to see and larger shopping are close by. We loved our stay, enjoyed every minute.

Relaxing, beautiful and fun New Year’s Eve get away.
This is a great place! Sadly the heat went out when we were there. The owner had a workman there the next day but, we went 2 chilly nights without heat. I will however, go back if the occasion for it arises! The owner is great and offered to return some of our rent for the inconvenience but we didn’t take it because we enjoyed everything else about the stay! We had a really good time here!!

Fantastic!
We had a wonderful weekend at the property and hope to visit again! Everything was clean and tidy. We played pickle ball, swam, fished, etc. I will caution that if you’re sensitive to smells, then the sulfur smell of the water (running water, not the pool) might be a problem for you. We quickly got used to it and would happily return. I thoroughly enjoyed the priceless memorabilia throughout the home. Overall, a fun and relaxing weekend. Thank you!

Thank you Lauren. The water for the home comes from a deep well and sometimes has a sulphur smell; mostly in the kitchen. We have a system in place to deal with it but sometimes it doesn't work. Thanks for staying with us! Joel.

Great family stay!
Stayed here for daughter's wedding and it was the perfect choice. Had a small get together the night before around the pool. The pool and patio area was large enough for everyone to be outside. Joel was a very accommodating host and allowed a late check out when we needed extra time. I would love to go back and just stay for some quiet time!

Quiet with great amenities
My kids said it was the best place we've stayed yet. They were a little bummed at first that I didn't get something closer to the beach, but once they arrived and saw all the amenities, they started singing a different tune. The bikes and nearby bike trail were huge hits, and our granddaughter loved the pool, the huge yard and the rides with aunts and uncles on the cart. We're into pickleball, so it was wonderful having a court all to ourselves. Everyone loved sitting on the dock especially at sunset. It was beautiful, and we're going to try a return trip if we can all work it out again. The hosts were great and very thoughtful. They even brought by some additional things like night lights and extra power strips so we could charge our phones. It really was one of our favorite vacations. One thing we'll do next time though is to bring food with us for a couple of days. The closest stores didn't really have what we needed. It wasn't a problem to go a little further out to Publix or Walmart later on in the week, but we were a little tired that first day. We highly recommend this place, though. The amenities were right up our alley, and the beach and other activities are well within reach.

Perfect family getaway!
My boys really enjoyed it here! They are 15,10, and 4. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing space, this is it. The boys didn’t catch but one fish and a gar but for them, they just love to fish. We really enjoyed the convenience of the pool! It is very well kept up. My husband and I enjoyed the house: the pictures, books, antique family items. Reminds us of home and much simpler times. We did venture off a little and went to Jacksonville zoo and Jeckyll Island. The Island is fantastic. Most of our however, was spent at the home. Thank you, Joel, for sharing your property with us! Loved our stay!
Lots to do at this comfortable home. We all loved the pool and playing tennis. Scenery is beautiful. There were alligators in the pond and river but we never felt threatened by them. Our interaction with Joel was great. He was kind and responsive to any questions we had. I would not hesitate to stay there again.

How quaint?
My brothers & I have been renting property for over 17 years for an annual “boy’s trip”. This year we had 3 brothers & 2 adult sons! The weather was horrible during the entire stay, but we were still able to make it out on the boat 3 times. The 85 degree pool was used everyday for the week! We spent time eating & playing games under the screened in porch as well. Never made it onto the tennis courts, but we had everything we needed for tennis & pickeball! We’ll be back….

Ideal peaceful and beautiful getaway
This is my favorite vacation getaway. I have stayed here before, and plan to come again soon! This is a beautiful and immaculate home in an idyllic and quiet location (expansive and well-kept grounds surrounding the house, gorgeous ancient moss-covered trees, and a great view over the adjacent river). There were plenty of amenities, but the heated pool is awesome.

Amazing! Just what we were looking for!
This place was great! Beautiful, clean, tidy (including the grounds), and so peaceful! Everything you need to unwind: fish in the morning, pickleball/tennis in the afternoon, swim in the evening. Overdue for an Upgrade
The grounds and view were beautiful. The house itself is in serious need of an upgrade. This is an old family home and it looks and smells the part. We purchased candles and air fresheners to take away the smell. The furniture is old and have been resurfaced so that it looks like lipstick on a pig. A lot of personal items are on display throughout the house, which I find inappropriate for a house that is being rented to the public. Renters should not be in a position to care for your family heirlooms. Also, the mosquitoes and sand gnats were very active, even though it was November. I would not want to be here during the spring or summer.

Peaceful place, beautiful views!
My husband and I stayed for a week at this lovely property and can't wait to go back and bring our kids and grandkids! The home is very comfortable, and is much bigger than what the photos reflect. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen well stocked, plenty of areas to sit and spread out in various rooms, and the home is nicely laid out for families. There are gorgeous views of the property and water from every part of the home. The best part about the place is the outdoors! We greatly enjoyed sitting down on the dock and just talking and reading and watching wildlife. Same with the pool deck. The golf cart is a load of fun...we took it up to the bike/walking trail and parked it so we could walk. The orange trees were in full fruit and we enjoyed eating several! The owner, Joel, was very helpful before and during our stay with any questions we had. He has taken excellent care of his family home and was nearby to assist us with anything we needed. We would highly recommend Joel and his beautiful Cypress Point, and we will be back soon!

Family Trip
This home offers many amenities. That is why this was our 2nd visit here. You get to stay in a very small town about 35 minutes from Jekyll Island and one of the best crab boil places we have yet to find - Fat and Fine. Great place to relax while the kids (ages 23-40)played tennis, rode bikes and the golf cart. Our host Joel was extremely helpful during our stay. It's hard to summarize the good time we had - I could go on and on.

Beautiful and Tranquil Property
My husband and I, along with our 32 year old daughter enjoyed 7 nights at Cypress Point. Everything you need is supplied and the home is extra clean - we have stayed at many vacation homes and this is one of the cleanest. My daughter and I enjoyed the bikes, tennis courts, and the pool. My husband tried his hand at fishing in the pond and the river. Fishing was not so good, but he did manage to catch a small brim out of the pond and 2 eels and 2 small catfish out of the river. Joel lives across the property and just a call away if you need anything. The property is beautiful, and you won't find anywhere more peaceful than here. Just forty-five minutes from many of the beaches and Jacksonville for day trips. The only disappointments were the smell of the water, which we understand is due to the sulfur in the well water and the coolness of the pool. Although we swam the last 3 or 4 days we were there, the temperature of the water just did not make it comfortable enough to take the plunge more than once a day, which we tried to time near the end of the 7 hour heating cycle. If we stayed again, it would be when nights were warmer than the 50's so that we could fully enjoy the pool. Thanks Joel for sharing your property and fruit with us!

Thank you so much for the nice review! I apologize for the coolness of the pool water. The pump went out before your arrival and the replacement could not be made until just before you arrived. The heater did not have enough time to get the temp up, fighting against the cold nights. I do have someone coming in to evaluate the Sulphur smell in the water. The aerator was obviously not doing an adequate job. I hope you will return soon and often. Joel.

What a beautiful property! House was very clean and well equipped. There are more bikes available than in the pictures— even for little ones! Joel was a very kind host and available to help if needed. Sunsets over the river are stunning and such a peaceful setting.

Wonderful getaway
Joel was a wonderful host and the property was beautiful. We enjoyed using the golf cart to carry our tackle to the dock and our pups enjoyed the ride as well. Didn’t get a chance to use the bicycles but there were plenty to choose from. Although the fishing wasn’t great we did catch a few big catfish and that made for great memories.

Long weekend with family
We had a great long weekend at the property. The home had a lot of space and the property is beautiful. The pond had some small alligators and the dock was nice at sunset (with bug spray). The location was close enough for day trips to Jekyll Island, St Simon Island and Amelia Island. The only things we did not like was the plastic cover on the master bedroom mattress and the hydrogen sulfide smell in the well water. I would recommend this property.

The place was quiet, relaxing and peaceful. Great spot for fishing, walking, and hiking and swimming in the pool. I recommend it to anyone wanting to just getaway and relax.

A family retreat not to be beat
This year's family retreat was the very best one we have had to date. We annually select a different site/state and explore, relax and try to take a break from electronics. This property was more than we had hope for with privacy, quiet scenery and nearby interest for all ages. The few times we needed help, Joel was quick to respond. The mattresses need to be replaced but other than that you couldn't ask for a better location to reconnect with family and relax! Thanks Joel for making us feel so welcomed. I h9pe to visit Woodbine again.

We absolutely love staying here!
This was our second year staying here! It is a great place to get away and just enjoy family. The pool is amazing and we loved playing our annual tennis on the courts. The sunsets on the dock are one of our favorite things to do also!

Peaceful and beautiful
The house is very comfortable and we loved the bicycles to explore the area . The pool is great and swimming while watching the amazing sunsets was a real treat! Joel was a wonderful host and our family felt privileged to stay at his family home. The history of the place was very interesting.
