Our stay was eh, the first biggest issue was communication. We received an initial standard check-in process message before our stay and then radio silence until 9 (just before the management company closed for business) despite us reaching out several times throughout the day/check-in process. Communication, especially on check in day is super important, it’s a new place and if something is wrong or unclear the guest just needs to figure it out.
Despite initially “looking clean” the place did not appear to be deep cleaned. We had white towels with brown stains that were folded inside to hide them, food on the wall near the stove, and oh so many bugs. We’re use to cabins and nature and bugs, but the number of spiders and beetles and other bugs that I needed to kill, and clean off our bed and food was ridiculous. We were told that they have regular pest control in case we see someone wandering around the property only after bringing up the issue and it really came across as a dismissive afterthought. Also, if there will be people on the property (which there absolutely should not be) you should inform the guest at the very start of their stay.
Last things were safety issues, the ladder leading up to the loft (which was fairly claustrophobic and the only real bed) just seemed very sketchy. It had clearly been modified several times and just did not feel safe, and the gravel drive is super sketchy any time of year, the grade is just too steep.
