The home feels like a vacation home, comfortable living furniture for everyone and especially the king size bed.The view is definitely what will bring me back the most of all.The barges going by the house and through the lock and dam. It was so cozy, clean, with a great view. It was fully equipped with everything we needed and had plenty of board games for enjoyment. We enjoyed sitting out on the front balcony watching boats go by and we did some fishing as well along the bank. Nearby you can by some bait, go to a grocery store, and try a local place called Market Grill for breakfast. There is also Cuivre State Park nearby if you would like to do some hiking that we enjoyed. The homeowners provided great hospitality and were very nice and had nice warming touches for our family upon arrival. We loved and devoured the freshly baked cookies and husband and I enjoyed the wine gift provided as well. The location is awesome, feet from the river. Sitting on the deck watching the river and barges flow by. The area is so quiet. The house has everything you need.....even an alligator across the street !!! Lol. You would be disappointed. ##### Steve H. After a hot day of driving we were thrilled to walk into the house with the AC on, music playing, lights on, a bottle of wine on the table and fresh cookies on the counter. I have never had such a nice welcome to a VRBO - nice touches! We enjoyed being on the river, but disappointed that it was almost too hot to sit on the porch (obviously no one's fault, just bad timing). However, it was fun to watch the barges go by and the house had everything we needed for our stay. The hosts live right next door, and we had a nice talk with their daughter and a visit from their dogs. ##### Kathi K. This cozy cabin on stilts is right ON the Mississippi River and offers a great view of the Winfield Lock & Dam facility. We spent more time outside on the covered porch watching the river than we did inside. Our teenage girls spent more time inside and appreciated the comfy furniture, Dish Network, games and updated kitchen. Our animal lover also enjoyed the frequent visits from the neighborhood dogs. We had a wedding to attend in Old Monroe and Linus’s Cabin served us well. We all agreed that it was much better than a motel. IF we could have done anything different, we would have brought a fan for the porch and bedroom. ##### Sara K. The wind was really kicking up on the last day, but the place is super well insulated—didn’t feel the cold at all.
