About this property

Peaceful and relaxing cottage steps from Forest Lake.

  • Escape to this peaceful and relaxing cottage just steps from the shores of Forest Lake. Nestled in a quiet, natural setting, this charming retreat is perfect for unwinding, enjoying fresh air, and reconnecting with nature. The private road is perfect for walks or bike rides around the small cottage neighborhood or long back roads. The quiet lake community offers relaxation and peacefulness of being away from the hustle and bustle of daily life, but with convenient amenities a short drive away.

The cottage is nestled in a forested landscape, offering a serene, relaxed setting with limited views of Forest Lake. Once inside you will instantly feel the comforts of home. The open concept living space allows free flowing activities and conversation from the eat-in-kitchen to the living space. The living room feels warm and relaxed, with a 50" Smart TV, DVD player, a long list of movies, high speed internet, cable TV, board games, and puzzles to enjoy on days inside. The updated kitchen features a fully supplied kitchen, with plenty of space to create meals at home.

The two bedrooms are arranged to provide comfortable sleeping options: a primary bedroom with a queen-size bed, in-closet dresser and space to hang clothes. The secondary room features a twin XL-over a queen bunk bed, and space to store clothing.

The bathroom has a walk-in shower and is conveniently located near both bedrooms. The washer and dryer are in the bathroom. The basement offers extra storage space to keep outdoor gear and luggage out of the main living areas.

Kids and adults alike will enjoy the open yard that changes with the seasons--lush and naturally grown, that offers play and exploration of wildflowers, plants, frogs, and toads in the spring and summer, then quiet and sparkling with snow in winter. Forest Lake is steps from the cottage and offers a footpath to the lake. Store your kayak or paddleboard on the shore for easy access. The boat launch is on Route 10, right after Town Beach is 1 mile away and offers sandy beaches, playground, picnic tables, BBQ, and changing rooms for a full day of fun.

We absolutely loved our stay at this charming lakeside cottage! Our trip got off to a rocky start when we missed our connecting flight and lost our first night. Nanette, the property manager, was incredibly gracious and allowed us a late checkout so we could make the most of our shortened stay. She also arranged for her housekeeping staff to bring over an iron and ironing board, which was another thoughtful touch. We came to the area with my boys to visit my alma mater, Northfield Mount Hermon (NMH), and the cottage was the perfect home base. Peaceful, comfortable, and welcoming, it truly felt like a home away from home. One of our favorite features was the short walk to the lake. The fall foliage surrounding the water was breathtaking—like something out of a postcard—and sharing that beauty with my boys made the experience even more special. 🍂🍁 The cottage itself was beautifully charming and well equipped. We invited dear friends from the area over for dinner and had everything we needed, from the well-appointed kitchen to the lovely dinnerware, flatware, and glassware. We also appreciated the cozy décor, board games, DVDs, washer and dryer, starter laundry and dish detergent, and peaceful office nook overlooking the lake. It was wonderful to unwind with a glass of wine while taking in the quiet and beauty of fall. 🍷🍂 We look forward to returning back to Humblebee Cottage again.
