We really enjoyed the Avalon, this is the second time we have stayed there. Albeit, the view of the gulf was nice, I wouldn't pay the higher rate for this feature. The unit was incredible, the gym was handy, and the pool bartender was very friendly.

The beach view was excellent and in general, the room was clean. The property left some things to be desired such as: light daily room tidying (garbages emptied, beds made, towels replenished without being asked)...I requested my sheets be changed in the primary bedroom since my duvet cover was a little dirty and they could not accommodate me until the following day - no one wants to sleep with a dirty duvet cover. The spaces were also a little tight. Overall it was ok but I would probably not go out of my way to stay there again.

Never again. They have a parking fee in little ole Palmetto, FL. This is a town that doesn’t even charge for street parking! The resort fee is a joke. I’ve seen management reply and try to defend this resort fee to other reviewers, I don’t buy it. The hotel is not on the ocean and not on the River. ...
