The cabins are in a great location but they were a lot more basic than we expected. The largest cabin furniture and bedding were similar to a small-town Motel 6 and it didn't (at all) feel like a home away from home (as most VRBOs that I've rented do). The kitchen supplies were limited- no pot holders, flimsy/plastic cooking utensils and low-quality pans- and the only table had room for only 4 diners (though there were more chairs). The bedroom (farthest from the living room AC) had one window without a screen and one window that only opened 1/4 of the way. We had to run to Walmart to purchase a small fan (though the owner gave us a floor fan on our last day there). There were many missing window screens in the cabin, which does not bode well in the Midwest bug-fest summer.
The outdoor area was really nice with a big field that's perfect for family fun. The fire pit was also obviously newer and had ample built-in seating around out. Outdoor chair options were cheap, plastic chairs (not very relaxing). Portable chairs and beach towels would have been really nice additions as the beach is so nearby (lead to another Walmart run). The owner was nearby and receptive to our needs when we requested more bath towels.
Overall, you won't be disappointed if you just expect very basic accommodations that are in a beautiful, great location. And you bring portable lawn chairs, beach towels, a fan, lots of bug spray, a pillow that retails for more than $3 and a hot pad holder.
