We had an issue with the heat/air unit; it wouldn't work. It was an unseasonably cold the night of 5/11 and we were freezing all night. The tv in the bedroom would only stream so it kept spinning in a lag. The tv in the 1st room did have cable; the staff helped getting us a remote for that tv that worked. They looked at the heat/air unit but were not able to fix it. We did ask to change rooms but they said they did not have any rooms available. Overall the room was clean for an older property.

Everything was in good condition except one of the burners on the stove and the microwave was hard to open. There was a huge ladder blocking the entrance of the room. The place was clean and allowed me to check in after hours which was greatly appreciated! Nice friendly staff!!

There was noise above me in room 105, there was a leaky sink and the towel rack fell. The contractors were friendly, and their nice motel was a block away from the beach and boardwalk.

Actually got moved to Bel Air location, as Safari was being rennovated. Throwback style was interesting and the space was big enough. Water pressure a little low and an outlet did not work, which was a surprise when our phones did not charge. Overall, a good value.

Close to the end of the boardwalk, nice pool. We had a problem with the lock and TV and the manager had everything fixed very quickly. Great weekend stay.

The cleaning crew was upstairs at 3:00 in the morning MOVING FURNITURE on a hardwood floor above our room. My husband went up and asked them to stop but you could hear them stomping around and talking loudly. I asked the manager twice to tell them to leave and it came to nothing. The AC kept cutting off which also woke us up and then it would get terribly hot and stuffy.

Location of the property was key for the price. You can Walk to the boardwalk. There is ice cream across the street. Hotel is a little run down but the management makes sure it is clean.

A good value for the price.
The exterior is showing its age, but the room is updated, clean, and bright. Good location, close to the beach and a short walk to the boardwalk. A good value for the price.

We decided to stay at this property while visiting Cape May. This was our first time to the area, and cannot wait to get back! I was very surprised at how clean our room was. It was older, but it smelled and looked so clean. We had a room with a full size fridge, and kitchenette. We will definitely be back!

The overall stay wasn’t horrible but the room conditions left little to be desired. From the broken blinds that had to be covered with towels for privacy to the barely draining bathroom sink that couldn’t be used, I wasn’t impressed. I probably wouldn’t recommend this property nor stay at this property again.

The motel was only a block from the beach and the beginning of the boardwalk. Restaurants were within walking distance. The room was adequate, but dated.

American Safari motel, Wildwood
Motel is outdated.....front check in office is at a neighboring motel. Room was requested to be on ground floor, because of wife's handicap, but we were given 2nd floor. No rug on room floor, bed shifted each time I moved on it. Toilet was uncomfortly tight to the bathroom door. Never again.....

No handicapped room or entrance to my room..had to stay with helper to get around..no help in bathroom either..too small..other then that very neat and quiet motel..room very clean..nice employees working there to keep clean the pool area present all day..coffee in the morning available to visitors also.

This is a typical Wildwood motel. It wasn't good - it wasn't bad. We came for the beach, which is quite nice. The beds in our room were not comfortable, but were fine for two nights. Parking is right out front, but it is numerous blocks from the boardwalk and decent restaurants had to be driven to/ubered. The options arent that great in this area, so if we had to come to Wildwood again, we would stay here.

Good value in Wildwood Crest.
Location 8/10 Room & Cleanliness 8/10 Facilities 7/10 Its a older motel with a vintage vibe. But clean in good general conditions and with some recent improvements (AC, fridge, Mattress...) Pool and exterior area on but could be a little be better maintained. Free coffee in the morning, ice machine working great, exterior shower, elevated deck with a few tables, free parking) One block from the beach and 2 from the boardwalk. Wildwood Crest in a quieter area and beach at one end of the boardwalk with the many co co cool restaurants at walking distance.

Excellent stay!
Motel was very close to beach & was very clean. Room had everything you need for a few days at the beach. Staff was very accommodating, both, Chin2 & the evening clerk. I would definitely go back there.

The rooms are decent and clean. It is a great location both to the beach and the boardwalk. Some things could use a bit of fixing, for example our fridge had a cracked shelf so we couldn’t put anything too heavy in there and blinds near the kitchen were missing a couple panels. It was also noisy even late at night from people hanging out right outside our room since we were close to the pool, so I would suggest bringing earplugs. It’s a good place to stay short term and if you’re not planning to be in the room much.

The office staff was very helpful. The sound on the TV did not work, but I found out it was the provider who had issues as it affected several rooms. My rating on service was bad because there was no room cleanup during my five nights at the site even though I had requested a room cleaning three days into my stay.

Great location, close to boardwalk, nice staff in office. Parking on site. Great price. Mini kitchen in room. Can ask for housekeepers after 2 days. If it is cold, bring extra blankets.
