Check in was smooth, staff were friendly. The room great. Everything was clean, everything was functional. Beds more firm than i prefer, but everyone slept fine. The price was great and we were very pleased to find a room that sleeps 6 on 3 beds(not a sofa bed) so close to Cedar Point . The outdoor pool is salt water filtered, better for your skin. Its right next to a beautiful pond. The mosquitos are high in number here, visitors might want to bring bug spray. I don’t know if the owners read this, but id suggest they plant citronella around the pool to deter them. The parking lot looks to be undergoing some much needed construction, could use better lighting in the back. Im sure it will be great when finished. The breakfast was simple but sufficient. We were pleasantly surprised to find that they had breakfast on Monday when the description stated breakfast only on weekends. Breakfast hours are short ending at 9:30. Coffee was great. Housekeeping was great, They replaced our wet towels after the first night, we didn’t even have to ask. I did not find a laundry room, but as we were leaving my son found the ice machine in the second building, so maybe there is one over there. We were on the second floor of building one. There is no elevator that i saw. Shower had nice soft water that stayed hot for us through our many showers. Our experience was good, we would stay here again for the convenience of being so close to the park and affordable.

We had a great stay at Explorer Rest & Recreation! The location is incredibly convenient if you’re visiting Cedar Point—just off the peninsula and an easy jumping-off point for everything in the area. Our room was surprisingly spacious, the bed was very comfortable, and the bedding was honestly next level. The linens felt incredibly high quality and luxurious—definitely one of those little details that made the stay feel much nicer than expected. One important thing for future travelers to know is that there is no staff physically onsite. Everything is managed virtually. This wasn’t a problem for us at all and the process worked well, but it’s worth mentioning for anyone who prefers having a traditional front desk or someone physically available at the property. Overall, we were really impressed. Spacious, comfortable, thoughtfully done, and perfectly located for a Cedar Point trip. And seriously—the bedding alone deserves a shoutout!

We had the cutest room and the fireplace was going when we got there it was so cozy and nice! The free bowling included with the room was super nice and an added bonus. The only thing that was weird is when you go in the back door from the parking lot you have to walk all the way thru the restaurant to the front desk of the restaurant and that's where they check you in for the hotel. We were super confused and the waitresses are so busy they can't really help! It's a pretty hopping place and the food is really good!

Stay was nice overall, but the tv only played tennis. Room was clean.
