The drain in shower was slow to go away. Lifted the drain to find it a filthy mass. Reported it was cleaned but still dirty and smelly. I brought cleaning products to properly clean. The fire alarm went of in the evenings for no apparent reason or explanation. However staff were pleasant and that is why I haven't given 0

The hotel is wonderfully placed for the train station and a relatively short walk to the town centre and the numerous Colleges. The staff are really friendly, efficient and helpful. The room was clean, the bed comfortable and the bathroom facilities great. Highly recommend the hotel

Booked the comfort triple room with private bathroom, on arrival we were shown to a twin room and a single room, without private bathroom. When we quieried this the barman said they don’t have triple rooms with private bathrooms so I showed him the booking I made along with this room still being advertised. He went away and returned stating he could not do anything as the manager wasn’t available, therefore, we had no option but to stay in rooms we had not booked. Shared kitchen was dismal, one mug for the whole 9 rooms, shared bathroom was unclean with poor shower, other shared bathroom was also unclean with a shower that did not work. Pub itself was ok, barman was as helpful as he could be but we would not return and would not recommend

All the staff had excellent customer service, especially the night manager lady.so friendly. Had a lovely stay,spacious bedroom, comfortable bed, the bathroom was also very well designed, with a large powerful shower. Breakfast was tasty and filling, as was the evening meal. Only 1 draw back is the £20 a day car charge,think that is unfair when you are staying in any hotel and spending alot of money on accommodation and food and drink,this should be waivered.
