Whitewater State Park

The location downtown is great. Staff was very nice and efficient. Room is clean and comfortable.

The staff was incredible. It was noticeable how stretched they were to provide the services. They did not comment on it, it was just a vibe, which is currently common for shift workers. Amenities were not as advertised: pool has not been open since January 2026 (at least this is the date we heard). Also, promised free parking, yet had to renegotiate for it. Restaurant is excellent. Don’t go looking for better food in the mall, because you won’t find it there.

The room was very clean and fine in every way. We weren't really welcomed with any warmth by the desk staff, and we were quite surprised by the response when we asked about early check-in (we were about 75 minutes early, I believe). In every other hotel we have visited, the response has always been the same: "Let me see if your room is ready." But here, there was no attempt to accommodate an early check-in. It was simply, "I can check you in early for $50.00." The implication was that a room could be ready, but it would cost us. That was a first for me, and I wasn't a fan. It didn't help that there was no explanation, no offer to check our luggage until check-in time, and no friendliness. Otherwise, our stay was fine.
