"Not a bad hotel just up the road from the main town centre of Lilydale. Only a five minute walk to the Lilydale International Hotel (great meals). On arrival I found the room to be clean and in very good order. The staff in the office were very helpful and guided me to various places around town. I had found out later that this hotel is part 'social housing' / 'halfway house'. When I woke Sunday morning, the police were present and I assume someone had O-D'd in a room up from me, as an ambulance arrived shortly after. This was not a problem and did not hinder my stay at the Econolodge. Would I stay again, absolutely !"

" Location was the only Plus !! We booked at this estate because it was offering Morning breakfast. It also showed a restaurant which offered Lunch and Dinner!! It was a total disappointment! When we contacted for the breakfast, the guy told us he will keep it outside our door. We expected breakfast that was already made but what we got was the ingredients to make breakfast! On top of that, he sent us raw bacon and we don't eat Bacon or Beef!! Next day, he sent us a box of eggs. There were cockroaches, cobwebs, dirty carpets. Totally unhygienic for kids. Both the kids got sick there! He told us on the checkin day that there was no Internet since more than a week! On the last day, the guy didn't take our call at all! Not called back. We tried 2 times, but no luck. There were no bin bags to put rubbish in. The stay was a disaste. We had to spent most of our time outside. The property is beautiful and they are not managing it !! I Don't recommend!! I am writing this review just after checking out!!"

"I would not recommend this property, although it is spacious, quiet and it has a great outlook, it is poorly maintained and very dirty. There were dead bugs on every windowsill, not a couple of days build-up of bugs (as it is summer), but the cleaner obviously doesn’t look for them or clean them. Every surface was dirty, every window and glass door was dirty. There are cobwebs everywhere, even down low in obvious places. The oven was dirty. The outdoor area looked like it hadn’t been cleaned for a month (at best). It is very basically furnished, so if you use the shelves in the wardrobes to store things, you need to clean them first. The master suite has a big walk-in robe but draws had random things in them and we could only find 1 clothes hanger in the 6 bedrooms! The facilities say there will be a Hairdryer, Iron and Ironing Board, we could only find the Ironing Board. Don’t expect any basics like salt & pepper. The hot water didn’t work (although that was fixed with a phone call). The large cool room/fridge in the kitchen didn’t work, luckily there was a fridge in the laundry. No instructions for the cool room or hot water. The cleanliness of the place and cool room were reported via a message to the Management Company a couple of hours after our arrival, and I haven’t had any feedback 3 days later."
