Portesham is an ideal spot to stay if you want to explore the beautiful countryside and coast of Dorset. The nearby village of Abbotsbury is home to the beautiful Subtropical Gardens, and the unique Swannery. Chesil Beach is just 4 miles away, and this stretch of coast leads on to Hive Beach (8 miles) and West Bay (10.5 miles). The popular seaside town of Weymouth (7 miles) has plenty of great places to eat and drink, or you could explore the Isle of Portland (11.5 miles). The bustling market town of Dorchester (9 miles) is home to Thomas Hardy’s property at Max Gate, and you can visit Hardy’s birthplace at Higher Bockhampton (11.5 miles). Bridport (12 miles) a vibrant town full of small shops is just a short distance away and Weymouth (12 miles).


Set next to the owner’s property, this delightful cottage has been in the owners family for five generations. With views overlooking the village, the cottage has been extended and is accessed via the kitchen at the rear. The light and attractive kitchen has a vaulted ceiling with beams and is equipped with a range oven, American style fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and microwave. Exploring the property further, there’s a charming lounge and a cosy snug, each with a choice of seating and a TV. You will also find a pleasant dining room which is perfect for enjoying a family meal. There is a utility room on the ground floor as well as a shower room with WC. Moving upstairs, you will find three comfortable bedrooms: a double room, a single room and a double room with a 6’ bed which can be made up as a twin room on prior request. The bathroom is complete with a shower over the bath and a WC.


Going outside, you can unwind in the back garden which has a terrace with outdoor furniture, a lawn, rockery, pergola and raised beds with shrubs and flowers. It is surrounded by stone walls and eight steps leading up to the former farmyard.
