"The room said King bed - it was a Queen and the bedroom was so small a King would not have fit. The other furniture was massive and had no drawers or cabinets for clothing so that was useless. "This beautiful historic hotel is in a bit of a pause if you are looking for plush carpets etc. due to the war; however, the staff, the service and the food more than make up for it. The rooms are beautiful and spacious with old world charm. The staff, the stars of the property go out of their way to quietly welcome the visitor, anticipating and attending to each need without being obtrusive. Meals in the grand dining hall are beautifully laid out and scrumptious. The hotel is located in the historic city’s centre amidst shops and markets. I highly recommend the George as a haven for any traveller who wants a classy yet unpretentious break or base."
