It can be hard to find initially as Google maps doesn’t have the back roads of Katwe, only the main road. If a sign goes down, you will need to ask directions...

"My stay at Gorilla Valley Lodge was wonderful. The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating, and the gardens and properties are beautiful with views overlooking the forest (including the mountain where we did our gorilla trek!). The restaurant area sits atop a hill overlooking a valley with 360 views of the mountains and scenery. "I really enjoyed the hippos grazing at night. The staff also built us a bonfire the first night we were there and we were able to eat around it. The biggest problem was they said we were not expected ( even though my name was clearly on their guest list) and that they did not know we had a 6 year old with us. They were very confused at first and did not know how to handle the situation. One man was very unfriendly."

"The grounds were absolutely stunning at the hotel! The rooms were very large with all the amenities you could need. We did have a couple of issues with bugs indoors but I’m sure that goes along with the thatched roof. The restaurant had an amazing variety of good food on the buffet. The thing that takes this place to the top is their service and the wonderful people they employ. We arrived at around 11:00 pm after a grueling drive. I’m sure everyone was tired and wanting to call it a night....
