We had two nice nights here, but unfortunately the third was rather disappointing. After our ferry was cancelled, my elderly parents had no option but to book an additional room at short notice. They were charged £369, despite the room appearing online for around £260. Both prices felt excessive for the standard of hotel. It should not be the case that booking at reception directly with the hotel is punished in that way, as it put those not confident in online booking at a severe disadvantage.
A fire alarm then went off at approximately 4:30am, completely disrupting their night. Given the circumstances and the extremely high room rate, it was disappointing that no discount or goodwill gesture was offered. A frustrating end to what had otherwise been an enjoyable stay.

As this was a last-minute work-related visit, there was very limited accommodation available throughout the island. £700 for 4 nights in a guest house I think is a bit excessive. But I suppose it was “supply on demand”.
That aside Jim was very helpful regarding access to the property, and a hearty breakfast was set down within a couple of minutes of arriving in the dining room.
A nice and friendly atmosphere with the other guests chatting about our experiences the previous days and what that day would bring.
Shower was amazing, bed was a bit creaky but very comfortable and the room was nice and warm. Fantastic view over the bay, due to number of guests it was easier to just park on the road outside the property, there is parking for 4 cars in a first come basis, with only one other property using the road outside parking is extremely easy. Free WiFi, tea, coffee, biscuits made the stay a very enjoyable experience. I would easily stay here again, but would book in advance to avoid premium tariffs.
