About this property

Entire place

You'll have the entire home to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.

West Glacier riverfront kid/pet friendly log cabin, 1 mile from Glacier Park!

This one-in-a-million location has now become available for rental. Homesteaded in 1914, this peaceful rustic log home sits on the Middle Fork of the Flathead River. Gorgeous views of the west side of Glacier National Park, 30 seconds away, if you're a good swimmer! Just up river is Glacier View Golf Course. It is common to see wildlife pass through the property as they cross into Glacier National Park. This 1700sf log home provides cool temperatures in the summer, warm in the winter. Large picture windows surround the house to take in all the beauty. This location is so quiet, at night, you can hear the rocks being rolled down the river by the current. Secluded, but not remote- one mile from the Park entrance.

Guests have repeatedly said that photos do not do justice to the view. The majesty of the surrounding mountains puts into perspective just how small we truly are. It has also been said that getting in and out of the property is much easier than waiting in line to enter rentals within the park.

This is one of the few locations to rent in the winter. The surrounding mountains block out the wind, while delivering lots of snow. A great place to cozy up after a nice day cross country skiing.

While scheduling your vacation to Glacier National Park, be sure to check their website about reservations required to access Going ToThe Sun Road.

This home is truly what it is listed as: Grandma’s Cabin. The location is just spectacular. The house is extremely comfortable. The kitchen has what you need. I didn’t want to leave. The hosts were sweet and welcoming.

I've never loved a cabin so much!!
My family and I stayed at Grandma's cabin for about a week and absolutely loved everything about it. It's a spacious cabin, roomier than the pictures let on, very comfortable, and well maintained. We loved the decor and the personal touches -- see the recipe for cornbread on the inside of the big cabinet! And the cabin was immaculate -- cleaning was outstanding - both the cabin and the grounds. All you can eat huckleberries (if you're there at the right time) since the cabin is surrounded by huckleberry bushes. Full kitchen, towels, grill, board games, tv, wash machine and dryer + more. Loved it! Location was great, remote enough to feel isolated without actually being too isolated. Within 3 minute driver to Glacier Park West entrance. View from the cabin is stunning although actually going down to the water is a bit of a challenge. Owners were absolutely fantastic and were a wealth of knowledge about the cabin's history. In fact, the history of the cabin is absolutely fascinating and the opportunity to stay in a cabin that had seen so much was really special. In sum, this is a wonderful place to stay: modernized but still with a lot of character, close to Glacier, and charming in and of itself. Would come back and would not hesitate to recommend to others.

This place is special!
My family of 6 have been fortunate to stay some amazing places. Both coasts and several national parks included. Of all of our trips this place was truly special. The location and view are impossible to do justice by describing them here. My 4 girls loved everything about the house but the ability to walk down the hill and play in the river was their favorite. If you like to fish this place can’t be beat! My wife and I started discussing a return trip here before our stay was over. I have never stayed anywhere that was so well stocked. Everything from bug spray to stuff for s’mores was there! Matt and Sue were the most incredible hosts and even took the time to show the girls where to find the huckleberries. We arrived fairly late the first day, but with it being light until 10:30 this time of year I decided I was going to have a campfire and just enjoy the incredible view. They had gone as far as building a teepee of kindling and paper so all I had to do was light a match! First class attention to detail! Not only is the location incredibly beautiful, but also convenient. You are 2 minutes from the all of the shops/food/gas in west glacier and the entrance to the park. I can’t recommend this place enough. Thank you so much for sharing your special home with us Matt and Sue!!!

Peak serenity!
We stayed for the second park of our Montana vacation. The view from this property’s back yard is amazing! It is private and relaxing. The west glacier entrance is very close and several quaint places to eat and shop nearby. The drive to Kalispell airport is quick too. We enjoyed our stay here very much and would recommended staying here!

Quick entrance to west side of park
This property had everything we needed and the owners checked on us frequently. Nice view of the mountains and river. It was so peaceful! My kids were impressed there were games and movies at the cabin. The kitchen had all the things we needed to use. There was a grill and washer and dryer. The bath towels were fluffy and the bed linens were nice. The house was very clean. There were fans available to use in the rooms if needed. We would definitely stay here again if we ever wanted to visit glacier national park again!

AMAZING view & great location
This very cute cabin reminded us of spending time at our grandma’s house. It has some age but it’s extremely clean. The views are absolutely insane!! We had a great time enjoying the evenings in front of the camp fire in the back and watching the sun rise in the morning over the mountains. The cabin is just outside of Glacier NP and was close the the highway to get to our excursions easily.

Beautiful views and wonderful hosts!
This property is special and has truly magnificent views of GNP. The neighborhood was so peaceful and our hosts were gracious and helpful! The kitchen is very well stocked and the home is extremely well cared for. You are literally less than a mile from the entrance to GNP, 40 minutes from Whitefish and less than an hour from Flathead Lake. We truly enjoyed our stay!

Glasier Grandma's Home
I thought it was going to be and look much older, wrong, it has it all, very comfortable with all the amenities needed, plus he has an adorable wife that we had the most contact with and she told the loveliest story of the home and the two large picture windows that look out over the river with mountains rising at the river's edge, and thanks Sue for your cordiality. If I ever go back to that park, I would love to stay in this home.

Worth it!!
I was hesitant to spend more than my original budget but it’s 100% worth it for the location and amenities. Matt and his wife were always responding to my questions immediately. They even took the time to send me a long message with all the best places to visit. The cabin is old fashioned but has anything you could need and more. It’s extremely comfortable and really is like staying with your grandma or your favorite relative. The location really is the best for two reasons. First the proximity to the park is perfect. No driving when you are tired from hiking and after driving thru the park all day. Second is the River!!! We spent almost as much time playing in and watching the River as we did in the park. My kids loved the River. And this was the only place we actually saw any wildlife. We didn’t see a single animal on any hike, but saw several deer, a black ear and bald Eagle all at the cabin. Overall I can’t say enough great things about this place. Highly recommend it.

Amazing Views and Amazing Hosts
The hosts are the best. I came here with my mother-in-law, husband, and kids. They hosts provided everything we needed paper towels, garbage bags, soaps, towels, laundry soap, and even the makings for smores, and games for my kids to play. They came by the house and told us where to find huckleberries, sarvis berries were around the property. They also told us some of the can't miss places to check out in the park. Whenever we make another visit to Glacier National Park we will be planning on staying here. Thank you Sue and Matt for the great time.
