A lovely old style inn with rooms for the night. Room was lovely, bed very comfy and the area was quiet. Breakfast in the morning was top notch.

Bull inn Shrewsbury
Bull inn is clean busy at night no parking here use the various paid parking. Most buildings here are Tudor. Great time had for Xmas weekend. If eating out Book evening meals. Shrewsbury lovely place.

Very disappointing stay
Rooms above this centre pub are quaint and has everything you could want. The check in is quick and was very friendly, unfortunately we didn’t have a great stay. 2 of our rooms faced the front of the pub…we weren’t informed that a band would be playing but it was only until 11pm. It was like the band were in the room, if you want peace and quiet don’t book room 2!!! The noise then carried on while the customers left the pub until 12:30am…the staff then were moving chairs and tables and scraping them across the floor while cleaning up. Noise from people going home, on the street continued until 2am. The window in our other room (6) didn’t close properly so every time the wind blew, the window rattled, the curtains blew and a cold breeze blew over you whilst in bed. The heating only seemed to come on for a couple of hours in the middle of the night. 2 of our 3 rooms had a terrible nights sleep and were shattered the following day for one of our party’s birthday. All in all the pub is a great little find but I wouldn’t stay there again

My daughter had said it’s her worst night yesterday when we spent at the Bull Inn. The idea was to have a good night sleep ready for her exam in the morning rather than an early start driving here. First of all I had no knowledge of our bathroom located across from our room in the corridor. That’s not the big issue. Saying the room was so cold and so noisy is an understatement. The music and shouting didn’t stop until after midnight. Then it’s the other drunken guests started coming back to their rooms. In the very early morning, there were several loud tank sound trucks delivering something. The room is single glazing with no insulation. It literally feels that we had slept on the road last night with hardly any sleep given being waken up by some kind of loud noise every 5 mins. The hotel should really warn guests about all this, especially not worth for paying £80 a night! My first stay here a month ago was rather pleasant with only £46 a night with even an en-suite hence rebooked but will not book this room ever again! Hugely disappointed ☹️ just hope the bad night won’t affect my daughter’s exams too much 😢

We really enjoyed the hospitality, especially Laura and Molly! The vent in our bathroom didn’t work, so everything was always slightly damp, but that was my only concern. We knew going in that Friday and Saturday nights would be loud because of the music. Be sure to have good earplugs if you want to go to bed early. We actually enjoyed the music.

This is a pub with rooms to let. They throw a party wednesday, friday and saturday nights. It gets quite loud until 1 in the morning. Bring earplugs and sound machine. If you like to party it should work well for you. There is no wifi except in the pub itself. The staff is kind and accomodating.

Great location, right in the centre of the historic part of town. Beautiful narrow cobble lanes surrounding the hotel. Parking close to the property can be tricky but if you don't mind walking a bit, there is free on-street parking in the surrounding neighbourhoods. Good for a very short stay but I wouldn't recommend anything more. Downstairs entrance area is welcoming but once you walk past the door to the bedrooms, it feels a bit unkept and unloved. The carpets have seen better days, the walls are empty and overall it could use a bit more care. The bedrooms are adequate but cleaning needs to be stepped up. There was quite a bit of dust (ie behind bed), fittings need updating (rusty and bent towel rail in bathroom) and no light-blocking curtains on the windows. Be aware there is live music on Friday night, which carries on until 23:00 and then you can hear music from adjacent venues and from the street, so if you are a light sleeper, this may not be the place for you. The bed was comfortable. The afternoon/ evening staff that checked us in didn't seem very confident with their tasks but the young gentleman at breakfast was very polite and friendly. Breakfast was good and served promptly. Overall an ok overnight stay, convenient location close to the centre but not sure I would recommend.

Comfy, convenient and friendly staff
Comfy room and bed - solo traveller so in a twin room at front of property. Knew it would be noisy with pubs below, but was okay with that. Slept very well! Separate private bathroom, basically a converted broom cupboard - had all I needed but would have been tricky for a longer stay. Breakfast served speedily and good food. Lovely location on Butcher Row.

Had a good stay at the Bull Inn. As we were attending the folk festival it was ideally located in the middle of Shrewsbury, a relatively short walk from the festival. The room was comfortable and we were able to park in the shopping centre over the road. It was a little noisy at night, but no more than you would expect in a town centre.

The pub is in an excellent location in the heart of Shrewsbury, the staff are very friendly, however it’s in desperate need of money being spent on rooms and facilities - note also, private bathroom doesn’t mean en-suite, our tiny bathroom was across the corridor. Rooms are very tired, shame because the pub is pretty modern and welcoming, so was surprised with the difference when you enter the accommodation area.

When booking we didn’t realise that our bathroom was across the hall, had we known we would have brought dressing gowns, they are not provided. The bathroom was also very small, my husband struggled to use it. I don’t think that all of the rooms are like this. There isn’t a hairdryer either. The room itself was clean, small but perfectly formed. If you like an early night then this is not the place for you especially on Friday and Saturday night as the noise from the band playing in the bar and the people in the street is very loud. It didn’t really bother us as we just went to the bar until it was finished. Excellent good value breakfast.
