Traditional Hotel, very well kept
The hotel is very easy to find as it is on the bank of the river Meuse as you enter the town of Givet from the south. There is private parking to the rear which is accessible through the nearby public car park. The proprietor locks the gates at night so the vehicle is very secure. We came in through the back door from the car park. It is small family run hotel and we were greeted by the proprietor who sorted our room for us. The hotel does not have a restaurant, but serves a very good breakfast with a choice of hot and cold items, Everything looks very fresh, with buffet items served from a chilled cabinet with doors. The front of the hotel has a bar which was very busy on Sunday as it was warm and sunny. There did not appear to be much choice of restaurants in the town. We ate at the Brasserie de l'Hotel de Ville on the Saturday which was very good and very busy but this was closed on the Sunday. The Auberge de la Tour is next door to the hotel but much more expensive, but the standard was very good indeed.

Brush up on your French!
Great little hotel in cute little town. Desk host didn't speak much English at all, but we made it work, and he was very very sweet. WARNING - when we booked it, we thought use of the bicycles was included with our stay, but it was not. It was E30 for 2 bikes for a day. Not bad, but just seemed a little "nickle and dime-y."

Hotel much better than we had expected. Setting next to river and old towers extremely good and nice strolls through town, Manager and assistant always helpful. Breakfast quite reasonable and well presented. Good sitting areas outside to front and back. Noisy at times at front due to lorries, A pleasant area, too many trees but you cannot have everything.

hier gaan we nooit terug!
we kregen een kamer in een hotel verderop, kleiner, met een kleine tv en ondermaatse badkamer met sporen van de vorige (vuile lavabo en douche). het was er bloedheet. de eigenaar was allesbehalve vriendelijk, heeft na lang aandringen een kleine tegemoetkoming gedaan. De dames waren erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. het ontbijt was beperkt in keuze, koffie was lauw.

Excellent séjour grâce notamment à la bonne situation de l’hôtel face à la Meuse et a l’accueil chaleureux. Très bon petit déjeuner également. Je recommande. On peut aussi y m’être son vélo en sécurité.

Petit hôtel familial, où vous trouverez un accueil simple et chaleureux. Décoration un peu surannée, literie parfaite. Pas de climatisation, ce qui ne nous a pas gêné plus que ça, même par 30 degrés à 19h. Aucune nuisance sonore. À 20 mn de la descente de la Lesse.

De prijs was te hoog in vergelijking met de staat van de kamer. Er was voor deze hoge prijs zelfs geen ontbijt inbegrepen. Ook de prijs van het ontbijt was te hoog.

Die Unterkunft ist einfach aber gut, liegt direkt am Fluss, das Personal war nett, das Zimmer war sehr ruhig, nicht groß, aber ich war nur zum Schlafen da. Abgeschlossener Parkplatz im Innenhof. Für den Preis Top!

Accueil difficile avec sentiment d'arnaque
J'avais fait une recherche sur le site pour 3 personnes et une nuit. Il s'avère qu'il nous a été proposé un chambre double (je n'avais pas fait attention à ce détail vu que j'avais demandé un séjours pour 3 personnes). À notre arrivée le gérant de l'hôtel nous a dit "je vous informe que vous allez payer un supplement de 20€ pour la personne supplementaire". Nous étions assez peu satisfaits de cette "information" si banalement amenée. Nous avons toutefois dû accepter car le gérant ne souhaitait pas nous laisser la chambre si nous refusions (après 120km de vélo et pas de remboursement possible, c'est tout de suite plus difficile). Merci pour l'accueil vraiment ! Un vrai sentiment d'arnaque surtout que le gérant affirme que ce n'est pas la première fois (c'est quand même lui qui rempli les informations sur le site il me semble) Pour un client fidèle d'Hotel.com je suis déçu. Sans compter le petit-déjeuner agréable mais banale à 14€... (je paye ce prix dans les hôtels Mercure) Sinon la chambre était propre, la literie confortable. Décoration vieillissante néanmoins. Possibilité de garer des vélos en toute sécurité.

Vieil hôtel pas bien rénové : porte de la chambre difficile à fermer (à raboter au plus vite), prise de courant au mur très sale, fixation de la planche du WC (écrou uniquement à droite) ... bref à ne pas conseiller même si le personnel est sympa
