Weikertschlag Holidays from £277

Easy check in, they even had storage because i arrived 5 hours early. My only suggestion would be for the pods to have another light setting, it was either dark or super bright, a dimmer switch would have been nice.

I was looking for a place in Vienna's Innere Stadt for my week in Vienna. I'm glad I chose Pension Dr Geissler. Things I enjoyed: * The location is perfect, just minutes from the subway and St Stephen's and other landmarks. * My room was really nice, had a shower (from the description I thought this was shared). Toilet was shared among 4 rooms on floor and I never had an instance where it was busy when I needed it. Room had a TV and bed was comfortable. * Included breakfast was a nice touch each morning. * I arrived late (after 11 p.m.) due to a train into town. I was nervous about this since it's after official check in hours. But when I rang the outside bell, someone immediately answered and helped me get in and up to my room. Cautions: * Initial communication could be better: when I first emailed them asking about procedure for arriving late, it took a few days for someone to respond, saying my message was in their spam. I'm not sure how to get around this, for a customer. * Breakfast is on the 8th floor (along with pension office); my room was on the 5th. Other rooms are scattered here and there in the building which is shared with other apartments and businesses. It's many stairs if you walk. There's an elevator, although at times it's fairly slow. * Towels are not changed daily -- mine were only changed when I left them on the floor. Maybe this is standard, but nothing in the room indicated it. * Plant near office/courtyard window needed watering.

The TV did not work, even after calling staff, and experts. The so-called third bed was not a bed, it was a very soft sofa which caused my daughter backache pain in the morning. There was no black tea or coffee or milk available in the room. The breakfast was good and plentiful.

Everything is good but it is quite cold there since there is no sun coming in

Mixed feelings about this place... First, the good: Location was fantastic for an event at the Vienna Conference Center. Enough restaurants and supermarkets around. The bad: This is a barebones apartment with no cleaning and minimal amenities. If you are on a business trip, this will not provide the required accommodations. This is more for students and longer term stays. The ugly: During the online check in I was asked for a credit card for "incidentals". The system charged me for my stay again erroneously. When I confronted the front desk about it communication was difficult, and I had to wait for 30 minutes because the manager was on break. When the manager finally came over, he didn't bother to talk to me at all, he just told the person there to refund me. Not even an apology was received, instead I got a scolding for entering a credit card their system required me to. At the end I got my refund. It wasn't easy. Bottomline, if you are a student on a budget please stay here. If you are coming for business just stay in a traditional hotel.
